Short and simple....I have 180 pts. at AKV. Would like to purchase 55 points at BCV. I understand I can use 11 month window for each resort ( using only 55 for BCV at 11 month mark). My question is, when making ressies at AKV at the 11 month mark, can I use the combined AKV points AND BCV points (235 points versus only using the 180 points?) I hope I made sense!! Thanks in advance, you guys are great:thumbsup2

No you cannot. Your AKV and BCV points can only be combined at the 7 month mark.

When you read that "owners can book 11 months out" what that really means is "owners can book 11 months out using the points they own at that resort". At 11 months out, you can only use home resort points to make a reservation: AKV points at AKV, BCV points at BCV. When you are within 7 months of checkout you can use any DVC points to book any DVC resort.

Thanks for the reply!

How much does Disney charge per point for DVC resorts that are already sold out? Do we get any incentives for already being DVC members?

BCV: $101/pt
BWV, VWL: $98/pt
OKW: $96/pt (with the extended expiration date of Jan 31, 2057)
VB, HH: ??

The only incentive for the sold-out resorts is that there are no closing costs when existing members add on points at any DVC resort. There is usually a waiting list for points at BCV and sometimes for BWV and VWL as well so there is no need for incentives at those resorts since the demand is at least equal to and usually greater than the supply of points. In case you aren't aware, the expiration date for BCV, BWV, VWL, VB and HH is Jan 31, 2042.

As previously answered, you loose your 11-month booking priority when you combine points from two resorts. Using both banking and borrowing, you can book at 11 months for both home resorts; you just can't go to the resort with the smaller contract as often.

Year 1:

Bank 55 BCV points to year 2
Borrow 90 AKV points from year 2
Stay at AKV on 270 points - book at 11 months

Year 2:

55 banked BCV points from year 1
Borrow 55 BCV points from year 3
Bank 90 AKV points to year 3
Stay at BCV with 165 points - book at 11 months

Year 3:

90 banked AKV points from year 2
0 BCV points
Stay at AKV on 270 points - book at 11 months

Year 4: Repeat year 1 again.

So, we could stay and use 165 points at BCV every 3 years using 11 month window?

We like to go In May and stay at AKV in a 1 bedroom (234 pts. SV.) I get so confused with banking, borrowing and adding points somewhere else is more confusing!! Using the pattern you gave me, how often would we be able to do AKV in a 1 bedroom in may as i stated above???:confused3

My scenerio was based on using the 11-month booking window. Of course, you could stay whereever you wanted (or could get into) if you booked at the 7 month window.

With the scenerio I described, you'd have 270 points to stay at AKV 2 out of every 3 years. Since the trip you described only uses 234, you'd have to find a way to use those extra points.

I had the very same question ...and one more for the experts ..If I have 50 BCV points and get someone to transfer me 50 ( my brother) and his home resort is BCV , can I now use 100 pts at BCV 11 months out?

yes - transferred pts (are supposed to) retain their home resort status, so you should be able to book BCV at 11 months with transferred BCV pts.
