I have rented before and prefer another member as the process is easier to transfer points than to actually rent, but will rent to non-members with guidelines. I am able to accept credit card with address verification with an additional 2.5% charge. MC/Visa/Discover/Amex. Otherwise, you may pay via check. The credit card is run through my business and I will let you know name prior to processing.
Process-
Research the different properties and provide the following:
Resorts/Unit Size/# Nights/Total Points/3 Choices
1. Points required for the size of unit you wish to rent.
2. Start date of rental, # of nights, and size of unit desired and total points you will need to rent for the ressie.
3. Top 3 property choices- please have at least 2 alternative properties in mind as a backup.
Ease of obtaining Ressie at each DVC property
1- Being most difficult to 6- being easiest. These are approximations based upon my personal experience.
1. Beach
2. Animal Kingdom
3. Boardwalk
4. Wilderness
5. Old Key West- Home Resort
6. Saratoga
Vero Beach & Hilton Head
Both are difficult for summer!
Bay Lake Contemporary (opening Fall 2009)
Not sure, but will probably be VERY difficult-
1st DVC property on monorail!
The total # of persons allowed for each unit size is listed.
Studio- 4
1BR- 4
2BR- 8
3BR- 12
Reservation Guidelines for Resorts
I am able to check on dates starting:
11 Months out for Home Resort
Old Key West
7 Months out for all others
As of June 1, 2009,
I can check availability for the properties for check-in dates listed. These dates correspond to the 11 & 7 month
window to make a ressie.
Old Key West- May 1, 2010
OR
All Others- January 1, 2010
Add a day to check-in dates above for every
day past May 1, 2010.
B. Information required to check for availability
1. # Adults in party
2. # children in party and ages for each
3. First & Last Names of all in party
4. Address of person requesting ressie
5. Phone #s of person requesting ressie (Cell Phone preferable to contact you)
6. Email address
Once this information is received, I will call Member Services (MS) to check availability and notify you.
At that point you will make the decision to rent or not. 50% of the total rental amount is due via credit card in order for the ressie to be made. I will also email/fax the Rental agreement (RA) to you that must be read, signed and returned to me. Once I have received the RA back from you and, the payment has been verified/processed I will then confirm the reservation with MS.
You also have the ability to pay for the initial 50% payment with a check. Please note: Reservation is not booked until check is received. If reservation is not available at that point, I will notify you and you may choose other dates or not reserve. Check will be returned if you choose not to rent. However, I reserve the right to rent points to others who pay with a credit card. Sorry, but I rent to those who make it a priority to get the payment made quickly.
I will receive the confirmation from MS within 7-10 days. I can fax, email and/or mail this to you. Prompt payment for the remainder of the amount due (2nd 50%) is expected within 7 days of your receipt of that. Total time for entire process should be 18-21 days from the time you give the go ahead to book and pay the 50% payment.
Payments are non-refundable, so please be sure you understand the process. Disney does offer insurance for trip cancellations. You will receive a flyer about this when you receive your confirmation letter from me. I have that information available as well.
Total Process Time Frame
2-3 days if you choose to mail a check (not recommended to guarantee the reservation).
7-10 days for me to receive reservation confirmation.
2-3 days for you to receive reservation confirmation (if mailed).
7 days for you to make 2nd half of payment.
If you want to add the Dining plan, that can be added by contacting me to call member services to add that. Payment for that is made upon YOUR arrival at check-in. Member Services will provide the total amount due at check-in for the Dining Plan at the time the plan is added to the ressie. Disney requires that every member in your reservation opt-in for the plan.
Thanks for looking and I hope we can arrange for a very magical visit for you and your family to the happiest place on earth (except around 2:00 p.m. when all the little kids melt down because of the lack of a nap).
Summer rentals may or may not be difficult to book at this point. Fall rentals are more open. Xmas week is difficult to book dates. The first 2 weeks of December are optimal weeks to go since the crowds are at their lowest point and everything is decorated.
No one likes to travel between Thanksgiving and Xmas and this is an incredible time to be there.
Low crowds, decorations and great weather!
