Sorry if this has been discussed, but a search showed no thread pertaining to this.

From the DVC member website I found this from Member Privileges > Member Perks > Walt Disney World > Recreation

Pool Hopping Information

Whenever you are staying on your Membership at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, Disney's Beach Club Villas, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney's Vero Beach Resort, or The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you and any Guests staying with you, are permitted to use most of the other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you are staying) if they are not at capacity.

The bold is mine, and I wonder why it would say this and not mention the other resorts in the Disney Collection. The 2013 point charts do not even include points for AofA. Did I miss an annoucement that points could be used at AofA?

AFAIK, DVC members cannot use points to stay at a value resort, including the AoA. However, I agree that is an odd statement - my best guess is that it's a mistake.

However, a quick call to MS should tell you if DVC allows points stays at AoA and if so, the cost.

If anyone decides to call and check, please let us know what you find out.

I really have no desire to stay there, but thought that was a very odd statement as well.

There was a rumor at one time that they were going to put DVC rooms at AoA. Interesting....

The Art of Animation Pool was recently added to the list of pools to which pool hopping is not permitted. I'm betting someone at DVD was told to "add AoA to the pool hopping statement on the web site." They apparently added it to the wrong part of the paragraph. If you click on the link, the statement is correct on the next page. It's also correct on the portable perks document that's posted online for download.

I agree.
