We are exploring our options and would like to know how many points and at what cost for a 2 bedroom villa. We have never stayed at any of them so we do not have a preference. We are comparing the cost of a DVC and PORFQ. We will be doing the dining plan along with our tickets. Our kids are older, 13, 17, 21 and girlfriend also 21 so a 2 bdr is necessary but we don't need to necessarily be able to go back during the day for rest time (Dad and I might though) and the pool is not a big factor.

Just a heads up that the week you want is very busy and books up incredibly fast! Best move on this ASAP.

I tried the point calculator but it does not go into January yet. I was hoping that someone would know, or at least general idea, so that we can get booked. I will try calling the Timeshare Store tomorrow. I was kind of thinking Wilderness Lodge but it looks like they might be one of the higher ones. Maybe Boardwalk, it seems to be middle of the road.

So you are thinking of buying a contract instead of renting points now? The timeshare store only sells CONTRACTS not point rentals. If you knew what resort, that would help. Most of us have the proposed 2010 charts, but they aren't exactly written in stone yet. That's why the calculator up top doesn't have January '10 yet.

Most of us who own DVC have made our holiday season reservations already at the 11 month booking window. You might have difficulty with New Year's Eve especially, since that is the most booked day of the year. DVC is a timeshare, and as such operates on close to full occupancy at all times. That's why members book up holiday times so early.

For 2010 they will be changing the point charts. You can go here for both 2009 and 2010 chart comparisons and find what it will be for early Jan 2010 http://gallery.me.com/drowells#100081 Just be aware that for the time you want there is potential that everything has already been book and if anything is left it may only be at SSR or OKW. Most of BWV is not lower points than VWL; standard view is lower but your chances of getting that for time you want are next to zero
