I recently bought a laptop from Dell. After checking out the best rewards for my purchase, I chose to link through Sunshine Rewards. I never got credit, so I filled out a Trouble Ticket. Below is the response. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Why would "looking" for the best deal disqualify me. :confused3 I did NOT get credit on any other rewards site, nor did I use a coupon. I feel like I've been screwed. Anyone else have this happen?

hmmm, I wonder if Dell is the problem. My daughter bought a computer through My Points last year and had to fight for quite awhile to get the points. I think she finally did but it was a struggle.

Did you clear out your cookies & temporary internet files before clicking through SR to make your purchase? Did you search for discount coupons from a coupon/deal site to use on your purchase? It's possible that a cookie from your previous research may have been in your computer and overrode the cookie from SR. That is why all of the PTC sites tell you to clean out your cookies before making a purchase thropugh their click.

ditto this. if you clicked other sites to compare reward rates, then the cookies from them are what dell would have registered, especially if you clicked to Dell on more than one site. my guess the first site you clicked got the credit.

the reason sr didn't get credit is there was no reason to reward them. the main point of a reward site's agreement with companies is to bring a user their business/clients/purchases. you didn't need sr to make your purchase from dell (since you found them through various other sources), so they didn't need to reward them.

I shop all my dell through SR, I've always had credit the day after it ships. But I don't shop elsewhere, so no cookie interference.

Install CCleaner. After shopping around, run CCleaner and then shop through SR. You can easily find this program via Google. I have never filed a Trouble Ticket that was not resolved with SR. But, you must follow "the rules."

I've had TTs denied before.

You cannot "shop around" or look around for coupons before purchasing, unless you are willing to delete history, cookies, and cache after doing that and before going back through SR to the site. You also cannot use coupons you found off of Sunshine.

It's just the way it is. If you went to a coupon site, that sets a cookie. Because that site likely has a deal with the same purchase site to get money from sales clicking through them! So whatever coupon site you looked at might have had such a deal (to help them keep afloat without charging the people using the site) and they might have gotten the credit. Or they might not, there's no way to know.

So if you're going to look around, do it well before you are going to make the purchase. After looking around, clear everything. Only then should you go to sunshine, log in, click through, log in, put things in your cart, and buy.

Doing it any other way can cause this problem.

And Dell is hard...we had to do a TT with them and it took quite awhile to be resolved.

Sounds like you did look around online.

Imagine how you'd feel if you did NOT look around, if there were NO cookies from anywhere else b/c you didn't "go" anywhere else, but your TT was denied! Happened twice with me; Entertainment Book and Marriott...NOT FUN. But Sunshine didn't get the credit, so there's nothing to credit me with. Haven't had hubby stay at that hotel chain, and haven't bought an EBook, since, though!
