So according to the commercials, there's an App for everything. However, when my laptop ran out of battery the other night and I was trying to do some DVC point planning, I found that that's not true!! :rotfl: I checked out the App store to see if there was a DVC point chart/planning app for the iPhone, and noone's posted one yet!:sad1:

I know that Safari works and there are a lot of sites with charts. Does anyone know what the best moble or iPhone formatted sites for DVC points charts are? And does anyone know if there's an iPhone app in the works? I'd pay good money for a DVC planning app for my iPhone (I'll admit it - I'm addicted! :rotfl2:)

I don't have an iPhone -- but have you tried simply logging into the DVCMember site to view the official Point Charts? I would think the iPhone should be able to handle PDF files??

You can log into the DVC member site from the phone, but having an app would be a lot easier and more convenient. Despite those slick commercials, the Internet connection on the phone is not always that wonderful! :)

To the OP - what you can do is get the Air Sharing app from the app store (or other similar ones - I'm actually just starting to use OneDisk which works great with iDisk & MobileMe, if you're of the Apple persuasion), download the pdfs to your phone and view them there. That's a good solution because the points charts don't change for a whole year at a time.

Many people, including ourselves, have iPod touch models (which rely on WiFi for Internet connectivity). An app would suit us well as we don't have WiFi everywhere.

We would pay for an app that contained DVC points charts!

I might be interested in writing one. I have been looking for an excuse to get back into programming.

Downloaded the SDK last night.

My main concern would be any copyrighted information. However, since there are websites like this + Caskbill's software + random point calculators on the web, it doesn't appear that it is too big of a deal.

The app is called "D Point" and it can assist owners with calculating the number of points needed for their DVC reservations.

I have an app that I downloaded while at Disneyland. We decided we wanted to plan our next trip and asked someone at a kiosk if they had a point chart. They told us to download the Iphone App. :) The one I have is DVC points and it will calculate the number of points after you enter the room type, resort, and dates of the vacation! It worked out well for us and we were able to plan our WDW vacation over lunch at Disneyland!

The is a DVC Points app on iTunes. I have had it for a couple of months now. I think you can search by DVC to find it. Pretty simple app, you put in the Resort, type of room, and dates of stay and it will calcuate the amount of points needed for the stay.

Just downloaded DVC Planner to my iPhone and already created and saved 3 vacations on it. It calculates points, as well as 11mo, 7mo and dining dates. Love it!

There is also the 'DVC Planner' app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It gives points, reservation call dates and dining/events call dates. It also allows you to save vacations.

I searched earlier today on the "D point" application and nothing came up. Maybe I mistyped something - I'll have to try again. I did d/l the DVC Points app the other day - it's okay - serves it purpose I guess.

actually they make two Apps for the I-phone! they have a DVC planner and a DVC point App I Have both and they work great. On your phone go to Apps search and type in DVC they will come up.
:cool1::cool1:

I downloaded both, but wish there was 1 app that could do it all. :wizard:

Or at least 2 things at once. I like to compare. I can always use my Iphone to get to tagrel.com for his point calculator if Im going to be flipping between apps anyway.:goodvibes

We downloaded DVC Planner on Friday (thanks to info here) and have had fun being able to play with planning trips while sitting in waiting rooms or at restaurants. (We also have the WDW restaurant app so we look at menus of our favorite restaurants and dream of being there instead of our local haunts.)
