Points + Cash???

Not sure where to post this, but here goes. Can you rent a certain number of points from an owner (yes, I understand you are renting the RESERVATION and not the actual points), and if that is not enough points for the total res you want, can you pay cash for the diff or do you HAVE to rent points from another owner? New to this but would love to do it- 3 times to DISNEY this year has me convinced there's a better way! Thanks in advance!

As long as you get a whole night paid for only one way, you could do either. If you rent through CRO for cash and the rest through points, there is a small chance you could have to change rooms. Your best option might be to rent from 2 owners and link the reservations.

I talked to MS about someone renting points for weekdays and then having them buy the weekend DVC rooms through Disney. I was told that since they are two different reservation systems the person would have to check out and then check back in. They may not get the same room. Be sure that you check with MS if you are renting points and are not a DVC member.

Great advise since I was told by MS you most likely would have to change rooms since they would be on seperate reservation systems.
