Points Calculator for DLC?

Points for the cruise vary according to length of cruise (3-night, 4-night or 7-night), itinerary on the 7-night cruises (Eastern or Western Caribbean), season (value, regular, peak or holiday) and stateroom category (4 - 11). MS negotiates the point requirements with DCL annually.

For example, for the 7 night Western Cruise, a category 9 (deluxe ocean view) cabin in regular season would be 185 points each for the first two people. Children 2 and under (in same cabin) would be 16 points each, children 3 - 12 (in same cabin) would be 91 points each and all others in the same cabin (13 and older) would be 117 points each.

If you have a particular time of the year and cruise length in mind, post again. I (or someone else) would be glad to look up the 2002 points for you. The 2003 point chart hasn't been published yet, but I believe MS has it.

HTH a little.

You can only book categories 4 - 11 with DVC points, so I'll give you the requirements for a cat 4. June 30 is regular season.

For the 4-night Bahamas cruise (sails on Sundays):

Cat 4 is 182 points for first two in cabin, 14 points for children 2 and under, 63 points for children 3-12 and 69 points for all others (13 and older)

For the 7 night Eastern Carribean cruise departing 6/29:

Cat 4 is 263 points for first two in cabin, 16 points for children 2 and under, 78 points for children 3-12 and 104 points for all others (13 and older)

For the 7 night Western Carribean cruise departing 6/22 or 7/6:

Cat 4 is 289 points for first two in cabin, 16 points for children 2 and under, 91 points for children 3-12 and 117 points for all others (13 and older)

Hope everything works out for you.

Another thing to be aware of when cruising with points is that you can mix points and cash - that is, pay for one person with points and everyone else with cash, or some other combination (the only thing you can't do is use partial points and cash for a single individual).

My personal opinion is that using DVC points to cruise is a very expensive way to cruise - DCL is already an expensive cruise line, and I just personally can't justify the point cost (besides, we would never have enough points to do it since we spend them all staying at various DVC resorts). And from the sounds of others on the board, it looks like the point cost for the cruise is going up even more for 2003.

But, other people have used points for the cruise and are quite happy. So, your milage may vary.

Here's the cat 5 point requirements:

For the 4-night Bahamas cruise (sails on Sundays):

Cat 5 is 156 points for first two in cabin, 14 points for children 2 and under, 63 points for children 3-12 and 69 points for all others (13 and older)

For the 7 night Eastern Carribean cruise departing 6/29:

Cat 5 is 224 points for first two in cabin, 16 points for children 2 and under, 78 points for children 3-12 and 104 points for all others (13 and older)

For the 7 night Western Carribean cruise departing 6/22 or 7/6:

Cat 5 is 250 points for first two in cabin, 16 points for children 2 and under, 91 points for children 3-12 and 117 points for all others (13 and older)

Thank you so much Carol for doing that, I think that FF Mikey is right, 250 points each for a cat 5, 7 night cruise does look alot!!

Thanks

Emma
