ok, thanks for being patient with all of my questions and posts lately. Just working on making a final decision.

Are there point charts somewhere for the non-DVC hotels...like if we sign up, but cant get the VWL, could we just use our points to stay at the Wilderness Lodge or Poly etc. We are set on VWL because this is a HUGE family vacation and we got everyone excited about staying at the Wilderness Lodge and would hate to say, sorry, we are going to change resorts. I am just looking for backup plans incase we can not buy in to VWL or somewhere else and miss our 7 month window. I wouldnt be so concerned if we werent going over the holidays.

Thanks!!!

Yes, there is a point chart in the member package for the non-DVC resorts. I am not sure where you can see it on-line. Most folks don't do this because a room in a deluxe costs as many points as a 2 bedroom villa. We may do it sometimes for a one night splurge, but we would have to get 2 rooms so mega-points!

Hi - I'll try to answer some of your questions - yes there are point charts for non-dvc disney stays and someone else may be able to post those for you - but you cannot stay at a disney property on points that has an affiliated DVC portion - so you would not be able to stay in the main hotel at WL on points since there is a dvc there. You can stay at the moderates on points, as well as the Yacht Club, Poly, Contemporary, AKL, Grand Floridian...am I missing any? The points needed are much higher per night for a regular hotel room than what you'd need to stay in the larger DVC accomodations - so it really isn't a good use of points - especially if you are talking about booking a lot of rooms. My suggestion would be - if you don't purchase at WLV - is to rent points from an owner there if you want something around the holidays, because it does book up quickly at the 11 month window for peak times. You can always try the waitlist which has worked for me almost always - but never tried for a holiday week. OR - give another resort a try - maybe a Grand Villa if it's a large group.

Good luck! We own there and love it! But you can't go wrong with any of the properties.
