I can NEVER remember this! I have an October use year. Soooo - on October 1st of this year did I get 2014 points or 2015 points?? Why does this always blow my mind??

The YEAR (beginning) of your use year will always be the same as the calendar year. So as the PP says, the answer to your question is 2014

Here's more help with use year:

Understanding Use Year

It even uses October in the examples. :teeth:

2014. One thing to remember- you didn't "get" the points on October 1, they have been in your account for a long time. The use year just applies to the dates of your stays and the points that are counted as "current year" and which year points you can bank or borrow. So for dates of stay between 10/1/2014 and 9/30/2015, 2014 points would be current, you could also use banked 2013 and borrow 2015.

Think of the DVC UY as a modified calendar year. Instead of the year starting in January, your UY starts in October each year. Your UY started in October and October, the first month of your UY was in 2014.

Your next UY, next October will be in the year 2015.

Exactly. Kind of like Fiscal years. If you work for the Federal Government, your new year just started on Oct 1. Lots of states or cities use July 1.

With DVC I have two years, Sept and Dec. And for the next 13 days, I am in my 2013 Dec UY. December is probably the most confusing UY of all.
