DH and I are new to DVC (actually we are still waiting on seller sending docs back) and I have a question. I am planning a few years into the future with DIS-in law to take her parents (my in-laws) on a family trip to Disney for their 45th anniversary. We would need a Grand Villa (6 adults and 2 children). Is it possible to pay for 4 nights with points and 2 nights with cash? OKW is the only resort I would have enough points to do a Grand villa and my DIS has her heart set on BWV. Also, what are my chances of getting BWV at 7 months (we would either go the first week of November or the third week of June) since our home resort will be SSR? TIA for and help or suggestions.

There are not very many GVs at BWV, so the possibility of getting one at 7 months is pretty slim unless it is a very slow season and you get pretty lucky. I would also say there is NO chance of getting one the first week of November. That is during the Food & Wine Fest and everything at BWV books very early - it can be a challenge to find any room at BWV at 7 months during October and November.

I can't help with the question about mixing nights points/cash. I don't think you can do it, if only because of availability issues through CRO, but someone else can probably give you a more definite answer.

Unfortunately, you plan probably isn't going to word. It's very hard to get a Grand Villa other than using points at your home resort.

I'd suggest you just go with two (or more) rooms. The point cost will be lower, it will be easier for you to book, and you may even be happier with everybody having their own space.

For sure a two bedroom, which would sleep four adults with the two kids on the sofa bed and then a studio for the other two adults would be the way to go! :thumbsup2

That's what I was thinking too. I can do a 2 bedroom and a studio at SSR (if there aren't any snags in the plan between now and then). Then DH and I can stay alone in the studio and all the in-laws can stay together in the 2 bedroom:lmao: And believe me...no matter who stays in which room this plan is fine with me. It's my DIS-in law who has her heart set on BWV. Thank for the help.

I think we were typing at the same time, But that's what I'm sure we will end up doing and it is 110% fine with me.
