Pointless Poll: Do you use your top sheet?

If you don't use a top sheet, how often do you was the blankets? We wash the sheets every week and the blankets about every other month. A top sheet is less work when washing than not using it. IMHO

I don't think I could sleep with out the top sheet. I love my sheets, 800 TC - they are so soft and smooth. And I need to sleep with layers. As the night progresses, I can peel them off. I never tuck the sheets in though. I wrap them around my legs. It drives my husband crazy, by the time it's morning the sheets and blankets are a big tangled mess.

I wash the blanket closest to our skin every week or two, more if we're sick. It gets flipped around so much that I doubt one side is next to our skin the whole time.

I just get the cheap soft blankets to put under the comforter.

In a "perfect world" I would say yes, I like the top sheet. But there's not one on my bed right now. It's always getting kicked off, ends up all bunched up down at the foot of the bed, so I pull it off. My DS doesn't have one on now but my DD does, so it all just depends. I know my MIL thinks it's terrible. She tucked my kids in one night when she was babysitting and they didn't have a top sheet on and she just couldn't get over it. Of course she had to go through the closet and find one and put it on.

We don't use any top sheets. I wash the bottom sheets every weekend & try to wash the blankets once a month. Blankets are sooo warm & cozy (& I'm always sooo cold).

I've got a linen closet full of brand new top sheets....not sure what to do with so many, but they've been there for years.

Sometimes we use the top sheets for a bottom sheet! The fitted ones we buy never fit the mattress properly, so we'll lay a flat sheet on the mattress and straighten it out every day. Works for us!

No. I like to "move around" in bed and the top sheet does not allow it!

Why do you wash the bottom every weekend and the blanke once a month. Don't they both get dirty at the same time?

Also, for you who don't use top sheets, what do you do at hotel? I love hotels that triple sheet.

Yes all the time... I am always hot when I sleep so I only use the top sheet. I toss the other blanket on DH so he has extra layers..

I don't even have a top sheet here (we were provided with sets of bedding) but in CA I have one. I think I will probably stop using it though, have become used to just a duvet!

And I had never even thought about having a separate blanket...when I am at my boyfriend's we are constantly moving it about (different temperatures I guess) - luckily he usually wants it off so I end up with it all wrapped around me!

We use the topsheet, then a blanket on top of that. When it gets really cold I will add a blanket on top of the blanket and fold it up the next morning.

May I add, it's MY blanket, not my husband's. When we lay down to sleep, he covers up with the top sheet and throws his half of the blanket on top of me. Cold natured woman married a hot natured man.
