Pointless Poll: Do you use your top sheet?

Sometimes the top sheet is the only cover we use....especially in the summer.

My whole family uses comforters instead of blankets. Sometimes I will sew up two flat sheets into a comforter cover. That is about the only time they get used.

We don't use our flat sheet on a regular basis. We do use them to cover our sofa bed when it's pulled out though.

Lisa L from MI, ryan840 and monsterkitty, I thought my DH and I were the only ones that use separate blankets. We hate the tug of war battles and I seem to be cold all the time...could be because he has a fan on all the time.

The only reason I do is because sleeping between two layers of sheets retains the heat from your body much better, so you stay warmer. I'm always freeezzzing.

I just had this discussion with my son and DIL yesterday. they don't use a top sheet because they say it pulls out of the bottom and gets all bunched up. I took the flat sheet and put elastic sleeves on it so it is fitted on the bottom. No excuse, right? Well they are now sleeping on the top sheet.
They use a heavy quilt to cover themselves. I told them that they can wash the sheets as often as they want but they wash the quilt about 3 times a year and it will get covered in body dirt, dead skin cells etc. It doesn't matter to them. YUCK!!!
I always use a top sheet, sometimes in the summer just the top sheet, no blanket. In the winter I have a fitted heated mattress pad, the sheets, a blanket and a quilt. And I am still cold.
My other son doesn't use anything, he is always hot and sleeps in boxers on top of the mattress, no blankets. Peggie

I sure do. And last night it was the top sheet, the thermal blanket, and the feather tick! And the heat was set on 64 degrees.

Yes, I use my top sheet all the time.

Never used to, didn't even put it on when making the bed. Than last year I decided to start puting it on because in the summer there were nights that I wanted something to cover with and a blanket would be too hot.

Yep - I my top sheet. I think it helps that my sheets are 600 threadcount, though! Soooooo soft!!

I always use the top sheet, it keeps you warmer. My kids top sheets wer always in the closet never used

Yes, I always use the top sheet. I don't tuck it into the end of the bed, though.

Usually I end up hogging the top sheet plus half the blanket, and DH is stuck with just the blanket.

Last night the dogs woke me up so when I go back to bed it is too hot and I feel asleep cuddling my top sheet.

Yes, we still have our air conditioning on.

No top sheets used here either. And another couple that uses separate comforters. We have 2 down comforters between us and the 4 dogs that lay either under them or on top of them depending on the weather. DW and I tried to share one comforter but we are so drastically different with cold tolerances. She starts shivering like crazy when the temperature hits 60 and I'm running around in shorts. When she kept yelling at me to stop "Breaking the seal" (the seal is her huddled under the comforter with no possible air holes anywhere..lol), it was best we went seperate. Although when it gets really cold she sneaks part of mine on top of hers for extra warmth

Wow, I'm really shocked that so many people don't use the top sheet. I can't even imagine that a bed would be comfy without one. Of course, I sleep a little bare too.

The last thing I'd want is more heat in my bed! My DH is always hot and I end up pushing the covers off me anyway.

I use it but I don't bother putting one on the kdis bed since they just kick it down to the foot of their beds.

We use the top sheets. I don't wash the comforter nearly as often as the sheets, and the thought of having it touch my skin is icky. Besides, I love the way sheets are soft and slippery. They feel good next to my skin.

I do. My ex-bf used to pick on me, saying it's only women who use it and that he sleep on top of it. What's the point of having it if you're not going to use it?

OF COURSE I DO!
I like having the same fabric on bolth sides
but DD ALWAYS pulls hers off the night I put th eclean sheets on the bed - hates it - claims she gets all tangled up in it You think i would just stop puttin it on there but I love how it looks for a day - when you fold the blankets down with the sheet...
