Hi

Just wondered if anyone had tried the new resturants at Pointe Orlando? From reports I have seen up to now, they seem quite upscale, are they expensive? How's the renovation work going?

We enquired about making a reservation at The Capital Grille when we were out there in November but were put off by the dress code as they wanted DH to wear trousers and shirt for lunch!

We are due back there in 9 weeks and would love to know if any of them are worth trying.

Sarah, I haven't actually tried any of them yet, either, but I can't wait to do so. We wanted to eat at Capital Grille for lunch last November too, but it wasn't open (that's to say, the restaurant was up and running, but didn't seem to be open for lunch).

We were there during the first few days of November. Tommy Bahama Cafe was well on its way to completion. Assuming you were there later in November, I imagine it must have been almost ready for its December opening. We're huge fans of Tommy Bahama, so we're excited at the prospect of eating at the cafe. Scott Joseph, the dining critic at the Orlando Sentinel, doesn't give it the best write-up, but he is very particular. I'd like to think a lot of the niggles could be put down to teething problems. Nothing is going to put us off trying it for ourselves.

What was the construction like when you were there? The whole place was still a complete mess when we were there.

Hi Tommy Bahama is now open and getting good reviews seem's reasonably priced as well, but there is still quite a bit of construction work going on, Hooters is still there so not all going up market
