Point Usage Question

If you bank points into a subsequent use year AFTER you have already booked a reservation for such year, does DVC automatically change the point usage for the existing reservation to first draw down the newly banked points instead of reducing the subsequent year's annual point allotment? Or, do you have to contact Member Services to make sure the points are used on a first-in, first-out basis (i.e. utilizing banked points prior to current year allotments). Thanks.

They do not change existing reservations unless you direct them to. They can sometimes "reallocate" existing reservations at your request, it depends on availability circumstances.

No, they don't. You will have to call and ask the MS CM to reallocate your points if that is what you want to do.

FWIW, after every conversation with MS, I ask to verify the status of my points to make sure my accounting agrees with MS' accounting. That practice allows me to resolve any discrepancies right away.
