Point usage/assignment ?

I have an existing reservation for Oct/Nov of '05 made with a portion of my '05 allottment.

It appears I will have "surplus" points in my '04 allotments (UY Sept/Oct/Dec).
Some of these points will reach their deadline for 100% banking begining at the end of next month.

QUESTION:

Can I bank my '04 points, then have MS "re-assign" the points being used for my existing '05 UY reservation to use those, thereby leaving me to use or bank the '05 points in the subsequent months?

You sure can.

Before you hang up, make sure that you have the CM read back to you the exact disposition of your '04 and '05 points, and that it agrees with your records.

Are they all the same resort? If you made the reservation at 11 months with home resort points, you may not be able to switch them with non-home resort points if there is a waitlist. Oct/Nov isn't at the 7 month mark yet so you wouldn't be able to switch them now at all if they are not home resort points.

i dont think that is always allowed.........there are rules regarding the reassignment of points. We lost out one yr on this topic.

DVCCconvert - You should be fine. All of your points are BWV points and your reservation is for a BWV unit.

MS does not/should not allow anyone to substitute non-home resort points or holding account points for home resort points if there is a waitlist for the same room type and dates. If they did, it would be a way to get around the home resort booking advantage. This doesn't apply to your case.
