Hi,

I have an SSR contract (Apr UY) and a BCV contract (Aug UY). Can I transfer BCV 06 UY points to my SSR 05 UY and then banked these points to SSR 06 UY?

Thanks, Jim.

No, I don't believe so. I think you can only transfer points to a different membner, and even then they retain their home resort and use year.

No, I think you can only bank into similar use years, I also think you can transfer within your own accounts if you have different membership numbers

Thanks for the info. Member services also said this was not possible, I finally made it thru today right before closing.

Jim.

You can't transfer across use years, but you should be able to tranfer your 06 BCV to your 06 SSR. Then you could bank your 05 SSR to 06 SSR.

It is possible to transfer between separate contracts owned by one individual.

Which aspect of your transaction did MS say you could not do?

I have not gotten an answer on another board and MS has a 10+ minute hold time so thought I might try here...
I am a new member and used my 05 BCV Dec UY points for May. We want to go back in Oct and planning on BORROWING my 06 DEC UY for most of that stay. But, still need to get 60 points transferred from another member. before I post a request, what should I be looking for in order to cover the rest of my Otober 2006 stay? Do these need to be another members 2006 UY points? Since I am booking within 11 months, should I be looking for BCV home resort since transferred poitns retain the home resort? I just want to make sure I buy points that I can really use! Any help would be appreciated!

If you want to make the reservation for the October 2006 trip at BCV before your 7 month window opens, you need to find BCV points. Use year doesn't matter as long as the points you are receiving would be valid for an October 2006 stay.

In your post, let people know that you want BCV points that would be valid for an October 2006 stay. MS will figure out how to place the points in your acount so that you can make the reservation.

For example, you could find a BCV owner who has Dec 2005 points to transfer - because October 2006 falls within the 2005 use year for that owner.

Or you could get 2006 points from a BCV owner who has a February use year - because October 2006 falls within that owner's 2006 use year.

Bottom Line: If you want to reserve your trip more than 7 months prior to arrival, then you need to have BCV points to do it. If you will make the reservation 7 months or less before arrival, then it doesn't matter where the points come from.

Best wishes -

Thanks so much for the info -
I am a BCV owner so over half the week would be covered by my 2006 points (borrowed) - do all of them have to be BCV in order to make the reservation since I am more than 7 months out? or best off to wait until march-ish when I can use my BCV and someone elses' whatever resort for the week?

You have to use BCV points unless you want to wait to make the reservation until the 7 month window opens. If you think there will still be availability for what you want at the 7 month window, then you can wait and maybe get a better price.

If you are staying over a Friday or Saturday night, you could safely wait to reserve those nights until the 7 month window opens - because weekend nights cost more points, they are much more likely to be available than are the weekday nights.

Best wishes -

Johnnie Fedora,

MS said it was not possible to transfer BCV 06 Aug UY points to SSR 05 Apr UY.
I was asking because i was 4 points short to book dates, but dates changed and have enough to make ressies.

Thanks, Jim.
