Point Transfer Questions, Thanks in advance!

Planning to transfer some points out, never did this before, but the newly increased annual dues prompted me to give it a try. A few newbie questions, sorry if these were asked before...also I hope this is the right board...

1) How far the future points I can transfer out? I am Oct. use year, I assume I can transfer 2023 points, but how about 2024 and beyond?
2) Do I need a contract for this?
3) What is the best method for payment? Zelle? PayPal?
4) What information do I need to collect from the other party, membership id, names, address, phone numbers?
5) I am allowed to do transfer once a year, how is this 'a year' defined? My use year from 10/1 till 9/30 next year, or a calendar year, or need to be one year between two transfers?

1) I believe its 1 future UY (so right now it would be 2024 OCT or 2023 DEC)
5) Its a transfer based on UY I believe

The rest I will let others comment on as point transfers are a little more risky since you lose control of the points. So getting payment is important and you need to be careful of Paypal possibly. I did paypal for a rental I did because I still retain control so if they did a charge back I could just change the reservation.

Right now, October use years can transfer current use year points (which would be from the 2022 use year) and also 2023 use year points.

You do have to call MS to arrange the transfer, and it must be a 3-way call with you and the other owner, along with MS. During the call, do NOT mention that any payment will be received, because while points transfers are allowed in the rules, paying for those points is expressly forbidden. If MS gets even a suspicion that one owner is paying the other one, they'll stop the call and refuse to make the transfer.

You can transfer out the 2022 and 2023 points. You are entitled one transfer in or out of your membership once per UY.

So, if you give one owner some of your 2022 points, that counts as your one and done for the 2022 UY…calendar doesn’t matter..same would apply if you transferred your 2023 UY points today…one and done for your 2023 UY.

It requires a three way call with MS and how you do payment is up to you. I always request full payment in advance as once it happens, it is final and you have no recourse,

Not all owners are comfortable with that and many will do a 50/50 split. I would have some level of contract..I am email…just so it clear..but we are not technically allowed to receive payment for them and DVC won’t get involved if there is an issue. Some CMs won’t even process it if it is mentioned on the call money is changing hands,
