Point transfer question

I looked on the DVC site for this question but couldn’t find it. For transfer of points is that once per calendar year or once per UY? Thanks!

And to add. It goes by the UY of the points being transferred, not the UY one receiving them is in.

So, if you get a transfer of 2023 points, it counts as your 2023 UY transfer.

Had the same question and stumbled upon this thread. So if I transferred in Dec 2022 points, I can do another transfer in Dec 2023? (My use year is June if that matters) Or can I transfer in 2023 points at anytime now? Sorry I can’t wrap my head around this!

Dec 2022 points would be points transferred into your June 2022 use year. At any given point in time, you can do one transfer that effects your current use year and one that effects your next use year. Thus, today, if you have not done any transfers, you could have someone transfer to you Dec 2022 points into your June 2022 use year and someone else to transfer Dec 2023 points into your June 2023 points.

Thanks! I think I understand it now. And then transferred points retain THEIR use year for bookings though, right? So those same Dec 2022 points can be used for bookings between Dec 2022 and Nov 2023…. Provided they aren’t banked. Am I on the right track? Lol

And then one last question…. Do I need to wait untill June 2023 ( my use year) before I transfer in any 2023 points? Or can I just find an owner with 2023 points at any point and transfer those in?

No, you can get them now. They will allow a transfer of the current and next UY. So anyone in the 2022 UY today can get 2022 and 2023 UY points transferred in or out.

It’s not calendar year. But, come June 1st, once you hit your 2023 UY, you would be eligible for a transfer in our out of 2024 points.

And adding to the above, transferred points keep whatever use year beginning month they had before transfer, e.g., if you have a June use year and someone transfers to you Dec use year points, those transferred points retain their Dec use year. Once points have been transferred, they can be banked (as long as the transfer takes place before the end of the eighth month of the use year of the transferred points), but they cannot be borrowed to make a reservation, e.g., if someone transfers to you Dec 2023 use year points, you cannot mix them with your June 2023 points to reserve a room for any dates before Dec 1, 2023.
