Point Transfer Question

If a member who bought resale transferred points in from a member who bought direct, would the resale member be able to use the transferred points for all of the things we gave up by purchasing resale? Just curious if there would be any way to differentiate. Has anyone done this?

That is not one ever explained by DVD. It is also not one I have seen come up at all since members doing transfers would not likely be doing them with the intent to use the transfered points for Disney Collections. My guess is unrestricted points remain unrestricted even if acquired via transfer by a resale purchaser.

You will have the resale restrictions if you bought resale and transferred in points from direct member.

Curious about the flip-side. Own direct, transfer non-direct.... useable for Adventures by Disney (though not cost effective, I see)?

It's unlikely I would ever try it because as mentioned it surely is not an economical use of points. The only time I could see myself considering it would be if I planned a DL trip but couldn't get into VGC at 7 mos. Then I might try for DLH or PPH, if I had extra points that perhaps were expiring soon and just wanted to use them up instead of getting a cash room.

It would work if your points were expiring soon, but you really can't transfer in expiring points, unless they are expiring because someone forgot to bank them in time. If they were banked and then were expiring, then a transfer is not an option as you can't transfer points that have already been banked.
