Point transfer question

We have a Dec use year and are short 4 points to complete our reservation. I am looking into the rent/trade board for a possible transfer, do these points have to be for the same use year? or can they be expiring points? (Feb) and when transfered into my account will become Dec UY.

Transferred points are supposed to retain their home and Use Year.

The other option would be to borrow 4 points from next years points, right?

Could you also pay for the last four points? If so, what do they charge per point?

(New DVC owner trying to see what all the options are!)
