Point rental questions

First off, if I am posting this in the wrong spot, please move this.

We are about to rent points through a well-know service here on the Dis, and have several questions before we make the leap. First of all, our dates are *. I know that this is a very popular time to rent. Is there a way to see what properties are still available? We are interested in *, in that order. Next, if we are able to secure a reservation, how and when do we request a location preference? Also, am I correct in understanding that we cannot participate in a dining discount if one is offered at a later date? Lastly, are there any other words of wisdom or tips that you might offer?

DVC does not participate in any of the discounts that CRO that for its guests.

no free dinning, buy 4 get 3 free, 40% off - none of them.

you are renting from an owner not Disney.

Here on the DIS we do not allow details to be posted (dates, resorts, room types, etc) other than on our Rent/Trade Board, for those seeking to rent; therefore the above posts have been edited.

Fraud is extremely rare on the Rent/Trade board, and you can usually get $10 per point there, saving you some money. I just did a few weeks ago.

Renting a reservation, you will enjoy all of the perks that any onsite guest gets -- DME, early and late park hours, free parking at the theme parks, etc.

Because you are staying on points (even though you are not an owner) you will be able to get the Disney Dining Plan without buying park tickets if you want.

As others have stated, you will NOT be eligible for Disney promotions that come with booking directly through Disney (often at rack rates). Nor will you be eligible for any DVC member perks.
