Point rental price increases?

I have 230 points for 2020 I’m planning to rent out and have had great experiences using David’s in the past. Before I list them for rent, I was wondering if anyone knows if David’s typically increases their rental price (what they pay members) annually in line with dues increases?

They haven't raised their pay-out in quite a while, and dues have increased every year. However, I would also suggest the rent/trade board here on the Disboards - I just rented points out there, & they were all gone VERY quickly, and at a higher price than what I would've gotten with a rental company (btw, I found FB rental groups a waste of time - too much low-balling, multiple requests for a few weeks away, desperate requests for points forgotten when it was time to pay, etc). The Disboards Rent/Trade was easy to use, and has both "rules" & guidelines that help keep the process simple for both renter & owner.

They give you $13.50 and charge $18. Not a bad profit for almost zero effort.

I wouldn't say "zero effort." They filter out all the requests for non-home resort, for AKV Value, for ridiculous non-lead time, do all the education, and have done a lot of the build of market. They also have a contract, which if you don't you need to have one per your own contract with Disney, and deal with payment issues.

I completely agree. I know many have had good experiences with the rent/trade board but there is definitely something to be said for the ease of Davids. I realize they make a few bucks profit (as they should) and I’m happy to take the couple dollars less per point for the ease.

I plan to rent my points through them regardless, but if they historically had adjusted rates in January I would wait until then to list them.

Thanks for the insights!

Personally, I consider the cost as insurance. If a renter decides to pull a stunt of any kind, I trust that David's will most likely take care of me rather than take a hit on his reputation. Can you imagine an owner posting a bad experience with David's because of a renter he arranged? If I were to rent the points myself, I would be totally on my own for any potential issue.

I noticed your Riviera signature. Congrats!!

Currently my plan is to only rent to people I know IRL. If I rent outside the group, I will use the Timeshare store.

Few times I’ve rented was lucky to do so to other members, made things so much easier as they know the drill.

Is there any particular reason you would use the Timeshare Store over David’s? David’s was recommended to me a couple years ago and I’ve had good experiences. But I’m open to alternatives such as Timeshare Store is there is an advantage to using them. Do they pay more than David’s and/or make it even easier?

David's raised the price paid out by .50 last January. I don't know about prior years.
