Point prices at sold out resorts

What are the current point prices for the sold out resorts if you purchase through Disney? Do they cover the closing costs? Do you pay dues as soon as you purchase or is it comparable to SSR where they cover until end of year?

Purchases thru DVC for all resorts except SSR are currently $89 per point. There are no closing costs and maintenance fees will be prorated from the date you buy (usually when your deposit is made). There are no purchase incentives, but Disney financing is available for purchases of 50 or more points. (For a first time purchase, the minimum is 150 points thru Disney.)

You will usually get points from the current Use Year (if you purchase a September Use Year- you will get points from Sep, 2004) and then will get a new allotment of points at the start of the next Use Year. There are no sales incentives for purchasing at these resorts. For most of these resorts, you can probably find a less costly resale purchase- but will have closing costs and no access to Disney financing.

Just do the math regardless which source you choose.

One thing about resales--right now BCV are going for the mid 80's, BWV are around $79, WLV are going for about $80, and OKW is around $75. These prices may have banked points with them. In other words, depending upon the amount of points you are looking for, it may be cheaper to go thru Disney. As Doc mentioned, do the math before you commit yourself. By the way, closing is about $450.
