Point morphing appears to be alive and well...

Bravo! Bravo! Encore! Encore!

Thank you to all the people who made this possible!;)

I will tell you that Member Services told me that the points kept their Resort UY and Identity. I have been looking for my Home Resort points for my one transfer. I guess the only thing that changed is enforcing the one transfer.
They've said that all along and it's never been true, nothing has changed. However it is what the rules say, maybe they'll eventually get it together but I doubt it.

Thank you very much.

To be fair, I'd say what I saw over on the Rent/Trade board mentioned by the OP is more a case of "commercial" activity than proven morphing. They are scooping up distressed points and reselling them. I'd guess the morphing end is more about extending the life of those transferred points rather than morphing in the sense of having them become points at another resort. Still morphing to some degree but slightly different.

We are all guessing however.

You may be absolutely correct.

The other thing I see is an owner, quite active in renting (commercial??, probably...), who sells high and then asks for point on the cheap, for her own vacation needs. It's just another variation of commercialism in the points market.

I completly agree.

What frosts me the most is that instead of fixing the problem DVC just limits transfers. Even with the limit they still can't track them correctly.

We don't need limits on transfers, we need propper tracking. This would stop the practices used by the person referenced by the OP. If they wanted to transfer points cheap that were distressed they still could. Difference is they would have to use them at the intended resort and before they expired.

I'd love to hear of someone transferring in distressed points trying to morph their life span only to be stopped by MS. Losing the points and the money would be a nice slap in the face. Word spreading also might curtail some of that activity.

In order for that to happen we need a computer overhaul.

To my knowledge I haven't been impacted by the point morphing phenom and I'm not likely to be because we don't travel at high demand times. (although I could be impacted and I'm just too ignorant to know)

What I'm seeing is that some people are working the system as best they can to get an advantage for themselves. To the extent that Disney has the desire to enforce the contract we all signed and to the extent that Disney has the mean to enforce the contract then they should do so particularly if other DVC member are being harmed by point morphing.

My sense is that right now Disney has the desire to enforce the point morphing phenom but they probably don't have the means (their computer system probably isn't robust enough to accomplish that mission).

Time will tell
