I understand banked, borrowed and developers points.

But I have seen in other threads something about Reservation points and a few others I think.

Is there somewhere on the board that lists all the different types of points and what they can and cant be used for?? Or am I just getting confused by different peoples terminology?

Try running a Google search on "banked borrowed reservation holding".

"Reservation points" are points that have been used for an exchange into the Disney collection and then cancelled. That means they can only be used for other Disney collection reservations and are not able to be used at DVC resorts.

There are also "Holding points". Those are points that are in holding status because a DVC reservation was cancelled at 30 days or less from the date the reservation was to begin. Those can only be used 60 days out.

"Reservation" points are points used for any of the non-DVC options - Disney Collection, Concierge Collection, Adventure Collection (but not the World Passport Collection). If that non-DVC reservation is later cancelled, the points are returned to the member's account but can no longer be used for a DVC reservation. They cannot be banked and will expire at the end of their current Use Year. (World Passport Collection points have their own restrictions and must be used within that Collection subject to RCI policies).

"Holding Account" points have been used to make a DVC reservation cancelled within 30 days of arrival. These are returned to the member's account, but may only be used to make a reservation to travel within 60 days. They cannot be banked and will expire at the end of their current Use Year.

Thanks for being a little more complete, Doc. I tend to do "short and sweet"!;)

I like that the google search comes up with my page at the top :)

That other Doc ( :) ) is right, although I'd add that: 1) You can still use the points for another non-DVC reservation (so long as its before the end of your UY) and 2) Not all of your points are necessarily returned as a late cancellation might result in forfeiting a number of points.
