What will the point rates be for AKL??
To me more on the line of BCV, VWL or SSR.Pluto said:yes they havent been announced yet. i will think they will be like bwv. just my opinion nothing to back it up
I thought about selling one of my SSR contracts so I could buy an VAKL contract. But I think I'll just stay put.mikron said:I think Disney is testing the waters. My guide told me when i called to put my name on the list for AKL that there are thousands on the list. Disney will get a good feal for pricing. Some of the people selling SSR in the parks say the cost to buy will be very high.

hee hee. Thanks for giving this thread the the perspective it deserves. If indeed the OP is talking about AKV, there is no point in speculating about the point charts for the new villas. I expect the patterns of past slaes will prevail. After all, it will still be part of the DVC system, so available to all of us at the 7th month window even if we don't own there. I agree the cost might be significantly higher, but I doubt the point cost per unit would be that far out of the realm of the other DVC resorts. Sure, they might be higher because of larger units. I seriously doubt there are "thousands on the waitlist", since my guide could not talk about it at all, and said we could talk when we are down next week.Caskbill said:The point chart for AKL is in your 2007-2008 vacation planner, page 24.
Now, if you meant AKV, then those points haven't been announced yet.![]()
AKL is the Lodge, with regular hotel rooms and is similar to BWI, BC, WL.![]()
AKV will be DVC and will be similar to BWV, BCV, VWL.![]()
Here on the DIS, AKV is the official designation for the new DVC villas at Animal Kingdom, and AKL continues to be the designation for the current Animal Kingdom Lodge.
I agree they will be higher, but not by huge amounts as some would have us believe. The reason for OKW being different is because it was DVC's first foray into the timeshare realm. With SSR, they tried to re-aclimate a bit by making the other DVCs higher than OKW and SSR, which are farther removed and not directly accessible to a Disney park. I too believe the Savanna view will be more points than a non-savanna view.spiceycat said:I disagree. based on the higher points for SSR compared to OKW.
really think that AKV will be higher. or should I say that the savannah views if they do include concierge will be higher. these will be only the hotels rooms they are converting.
can't see a savannah view with concierge going for 12 points. now without the concierge - 12 to 14 points - but with the concierge at least 15 points. studio - adventure season.
Given the principles and balance for the other resorts at WDW after OKW, I think SSR was right where it should have been. Remember it was lower than the others. SSR is simply higher overall mainly related to the different balance of weekdays vs weekends which is the same in principle as for BCV, BWV and VWL compared to OKW. So if you want a wager, I'm game. How about dinner for 2 at La Cellier. I'll take the side that says that the same type of unit will be the same points at VWL, BCV & BWV preferred. We'll throw out any units that are out of character such as concierge included or a separate sleep 5 category plus GV as there is little to compare other than the 7 at BWV. Up for a friendly wager Pat?spiceycat said:I disagree. based on the higher points for SSR compared to OKW.
