point chart for Disneyland 2009

Just checked the DVC member website and they're still only showing the 2008 point chart for the Disneyland Hotels.

Does anyone know when a new chart will be released? I know with the way some of the holidays fall that the "seasons" will be different than 2008.

I'd really like to be able to do some "wishful" planning...

You can call MS and they will be able to provide you with the point requirements for your dates. My thought is that they are waiting on publishing it since GCV are set to open some time in 2009, and they may limit booking on points to the main hotel such as they have done with Wilderness Lodge, Beach Villas, etc in the past. Once that is decided then I would think they could publish the info. The DVC Planner is not due out till late spring though.

I am on the DVC member site right now and they do have the 2009 point chart up. I noticed that they have an asterisk on the GC chart. Apparently 2009 will be the last year you can use points at the Hotel. I imagine that in 2010 it will have to be at the new villas or DLH or PP.

I just spoke with Member Services this morning (saturday) and they have no information on the villas at the GC. As it was put to me ... "there are some things they aren't allowed to discuss yet." They only had the points that are reflected in the vacation planners now. I was told they were the only point charts they had reference to at the moment. I read on another post on these boards that some people who originally bought their DVC memberships in DL have received information that DVC is offering the GC Villas for purchase to them from Jan 25th to March 25th. Then after March 25th it will be open for everyone to purchase. I want to plan a trip to DL for next December but with no information on the villas, I don't know if I should book the hotel at 11months out to wait and see if I can get into the villas at 7 months .... if they are ready. Member services and our DVC agent were not sure if we booked through the hotel and paid the $95.00 transfer fee if we could then change those points back once the villas were open. I know it's not much information, but that's what I personally have found out so far. I hope it helps!!

This is correct, I received my letter on the 25th. It stated the Founding Member purchase period will be Jan 25-Mar 25, at that point I believe general members will be able to purchase, then the public if it makes it that far

I highly doubt you will be able to book Dec at 7mo, ever. Dec is usually a peak time for DVC and with only 48 units, VGC will be difficult to book 7mo out any time during the year, especially Dec.

I don't know why MS or your agent would be confused on that.

I hadn't seen the footnote about Grand California only being available until Dec 31 2009, looks like they are planning to not allow DVC members to book GC hotel rooms with points once the villas are available. I know alot of members who aren't planning on buying VGC points will upset, as the supply for villas will be very low and the Grand is considerably nicer than DLH or PPH...

Edit: just noticed they don't have the same note for CR hotel rooms, I assume that will be removed from the Disney Collection once the BLT villas are ready...

Thanks for the information. It'll be interesting to see how things are announced as the first sale of the GC points gets closer. We have never been to DL before and now with all of this uncertainty of exactly when we can book for the new villas, I just don't know what to do. Your info has been great though.

The 2009 points have been on the member website for quite some time now. Check The Disney Collection for Disneyland Resort in California.

Don't go to Member Getaways / Disney Collection to try to view the point charts. Click on the 'View Vacation Point Charts' in the right most column when you first logon to the member website.

The last anyone posted on the Concierge Collection is that DVC is still in negotiations with some of the locations. MS has the 2009 point requirements for those locations where they have an agreement.

You can book the hotels now. I booked the GCH for this August back in September of last year. They will tell you the points needed when you call MS. I don't remember them being much different than 2008 points, maybe just slightly higher.

Why have they not posted the 2010 point charts for the Disneyland Hotel yet? The booking window is coming up for us.
