Point Borrow/Banking Status Poll

What is your current Banking/Borrowing Status?

  • Banked a large portion of my point allocation

  • Banked a small portion of my point allocation

  • Using Points Within the Current Use Years

  • Borrowing a small portion ahead from next year's point allocation

  • Borrowing a large portion ahead from next year's point allocation

Results are only viewable after voting.
I normally bank a small portion from each year. However, at this paticular moment, because of banking small portions each year, I had to vote that I banked a large portion. However, I've already committed those to a December 2-bedroom, so I'll be back to banking small portions again. LOL!

I figure it this way...I'd rather have my points used, than to find I can't use them one year. I bought the points to use them, so that's what I'm doing. One of these years I will be in the black again, but I don't count on that till 2010...or later!

I was in my current use year (banking a little) until 2002, then I became a borrower (a little here, a little there). I haven't borrowed my entire 2004 points - only a little (less than 40pts)

banker and borrower...

Banked HH for next summer, borrowed OKW for cruise...

Of course, if I had my way, I would NEVER borrow...just add on! Unfortunately, other family members (ahem, DH) do not really see it that way;)

I'll be always in a borrowing state too.

I prefer to call it "reallocation."

But I thought the above post said that yesdisneyfool had a total of 2004 points, so what do I know.

We have always had banked points, but this year we did the Alaskan cruise and had to borrow. So, we did a 150 point add on and eliminated the deficit for next year.

It is interesting how many people are in a borrowed state, if this maintains, does that mean in 2041, there will be a lot of cash ressies only people there??:D (LOL)

Banker and borrower here too!
We have 2 contracts with 2 use years. This Oct stay we are using our Oct use yr contract--115 pts and had to borrow some of 2004 pts. Will still have about 60 pts left in it for 2004.
We also have an Aug use yr--100 pts that I banked 2003 pts so on our 2004 visit I can use my 2003 and 2004 pts.
It makes it easier to keep up with for me.

Aren't you all glad DVC does not subscribe to Polonius' view on this subject?? ("Neither a borrower nor a lender be..."). :teeth:

Of course, there is no way for us to know if those of us who voted in this poll are representative of the DVC population as a whole, but it is still nice to see that the number of "bankers" is approximately equal to the number of "borrowers". As long as it is in balance, DVC will have no reason to suspend either option!

Carol....well, I'll help keep the vote even.

We, like 4greatboys and others, are in a the state of banking and borrowing because we have two contracts of practically the same amount of points.

This year we stay at VWL with borrowed points from next year. And we have already banked our BWV points for next year's trip.

Thank goodness for those point tracking programs!! :)

At this oint I have two ressies that are using banked, current and borrowed points and need to modify them. Guess I better be certain the person from MS knows which ones I want to use for what so I can return some of them to the right use year. I want to use the borrrowed ones first so I can bank the others if I need to. Good question about 2041 - by then I'll be 98 so hope there is lots of availablity for 2042. don't want to have to be too stressed out.

We banked the our two add-ons from 6/02 (OKW and BCV) and are using them with this years points for our 7 day cruise and OKW stay. We will actually have a few points left over to bank. I really, really want to try not to borrow all of the following years points again. (Just a few:rolleyes: )

We have bottorwed all of our BWV points from next year (and used them too). For our points at HH, we are using current years points and hope to remain that way.
