Point and shoot with aperture control?

I am looking for a point and shoot with the ability to manipulate the aperture. The point and shoot that I just broke had a decent DOF automatically under portrait setting, but I want to be able to control it more. I use my point and shoot for not only going out with friends (I’m a teen) but also would like to use it for my photography classes if necessary. I use my mom’s dSLR (Canon Rebel xti) most of the time for my photography class. I was trying to decide which dSLR to buy when I broke my point and shoot so the need for a point and shoot is greater than the dSLR (plus it’s a good amount cheaper too). So my question, is there a point and shoot that has the ability to change the aperture?

most P&S cameras have the ability to control aperture to some extent, it just depends on the range of sizes offered combined with shutter speeds. sites like www.dpreview.com list the features of all major cameras including the range of aperture. If you don't mind the larger size and weight, ultra-zoom cameras like the Canon S5, panasonic FZ18, Olympus SP-570, etc. offer the most controls for shutter and aperture (and each around $300),
