well, DS lost my old, trusty, cheap 3.1 mp Kodak easy share.

I'd like to have another cheap P&S around, particularly for my younger, more responsible 10yo son to use.

I saw Fuji Finepix 5.1 for about $100. I'd like to stay around $100. I was perfectly satisfied with the Kodak (except, of course, for the lag time, for sports shots, and the like).

(my main camera is a Rebel XT).

TIA!:thanks: and:shamrock: Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!:shamrock:

Since you are a Canon user, have you looked at the low end of the Canon "A" series? They can be found pretty cheap and you would already recognize many of the menus, buttons, etc.

thanks for the link to the buying guide, Ed; that's great!

Nope, Kevin, I haven't looked at anything yet; wasn't in the market until now! :rolleyes1 but I will check out the canon. I'd personally love the S3!!!, but I need to remember I only "need" a "cheap" P&S for now!

Of course, I'll research to death once I narrow it down, but as I spend so much time here on the board, wanted to see what the good folks here recommend personally! :thumbsup2

For that price, your best bet is probably to go with a used one off eBay or similar. You can probably easily find last year's $200 camera for $100 now...
