We were initially hoping for a quaint and quiet resort so we chose POFQ. I just noticed they are sold out of rooms so does that mean it's a crowded hotel? Part of our trip was going to be relaxing by the pool in a quiet atmosphere. Should we switch to riverside instead which still has rooms? Is there a quiet part of FQ we could request? I didn't realize they ever sold out in September lol. I'm naive.

It’s a small resort, I wouldn’t worry at all.

Thanks. Is it still quiet and not as crowded as I'm imagining? We've been to riverside and liked the sprawling landscape. It felt like we were the only ones there. I hope it can be like that at FQ (as much as it can be at WDW anyway). We don't mind switching.

Because it is such a small resort, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t often sold out. I’ve been at busy times of year and it never seems crowded. I try to stay in building 6 so we are away from the pool and food court, though not far when you want to go to either, and I also like staying closer to POR because I find the walk alongside the river to be very quiet and relaxing.

I'm not sure I'd count on a quiet atmosphere at any Disney pool, but especially at a feature pool. During the afternoons there are parties with music and games, but even during the non-party hours, there will be lots of young kids and families enjoying the pool.

I agree with @VAfamily1998 ALL Disney feature pools are Noisy in the afternoon. The issue with POFQ is that they don’t have the additional “quiet” pools. So you may be happier at a quiet pool atPOR

Switch to Riverside if you want a quieter pool experience because they have 5 quiet pools there in addition to the feature pool. POFQ does not have any quiet pools, just the one feature pool. Of course you can use all of the pools at both resorts, but it would be inconvenient to walk from POFQ to POR to get to the quiet pools.

POFQ is regularly sold out and is often left off of discount availability because of it. This does not make the resort loud or crowded, it’s just not big enough for that. Of course you’re mileage may vary and crowds can happen anywhere but you should be fine :)

It's small and quiet but not really a place for relaxing by the pool in a quiet atmosphere. When it's sold out that means a lot of people in a small resort.

I suggest you switch to Riverside - as you point out it's larger size means you often feel almost alone and the quiet pools can be more relaxing.
