I just booked my Dec 28-Jan 4 trip, and had been planning on Pop as it was available two days ago, but as of today I could only get was a Mod. I couldn't decide between POFQ or CB and went with FQ and the deluxe dining plan.

I have a few questions about the resort:
Is the bus service any good? (we're hoping not to drive to the parks)
How are the CS and TS there?
Is it anything like a value (I've only stayed at values)?
Is it pretty at Christmas time?

Thanks

We had great experiences with the transportation system. Most of the time the bus is shared with POR, and I seem to recall POFQ being picked up first. We were there in January and didn't have a car and didn't experience any problems.

French Quarter doesn't have a dedicated table service, but the counter service was great and the run over to Riverside for table service is no problem.

We have stayed at value's, mod's and deluxe's and have our favorites in each. Our favorite mods happen to be POFQ and CBR.

I think you will really enyoy your stay, and feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.

Chris

Port Orleans French Quarter is my FAVORITE moderate resort!!!! :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :yay: I love everything about this resort!! ::yes:: :lovestruc It's small & compact, so it's easy to get everywhere. There is only 1 bus stop. It does share, at times but probably not during your stay as it's peak season, buses with POR, but ALWAYS picks up & drops off first at POFQ. I've never really had issues with the buses. There is no TS, but we really enjoy the CS there. The beignets are sooooo good & very addicting!! It's very pretty, especially during the holidays. The pool is a good size, hot tub is tucked away behind the pool bar, and the grounds are just lovely.

POFQ is our favorite, too. We love the small size of the resort, and the grounds are peaceful and beautiful. We've never had problems with the bus service, since buses pick up at French Quarter before going to Riverside. The food court is very good, and in the mornings it is easy to run down for coffee to take back to the room or to the outdoor seating areas.

Thank you for the replies it's making me feel better about my choice to just go ahead and book. I hope BF enjoys it. He sounded a little disappointed when I told him we didn't get Pop and I went with FQ. He's not excited about the pictues, but will be happy he doesn't have to drive to the parks.

We just got back from our second tour at POFQ. We've stayed at all the Mods but CBR and we like POFQ the most. The food court is just that...a food court, but POR is a 10-15 minute walk and they have a great table service.

The bus service is nice. You're pretty well centrally located so the rides aren't that bad. POFQ isn't that big, so the lines usually aren't that bad. When you have to share stops with POR, then the buses are filled up more and you have to make stops and pickups at 4 stops at POR, but that usually only happens during the middle of the day when one bus services both. Early in the morning, buses only stop and POFQ and MK has seperate buses anyway.

The theming is nice and it's a very quiet resort. The pool is themed very nicely and has a water slide. We like the resort because it's smaller and usually less crowded. We've never been more than a 10 minute walk from anything. I think you made a great choice.

POFQ is our favorite resort!!

The bus service is great. You are the first one's picked up before going to POR, and the first one's dropped off from the parks.

The food court is good. We have never had any bad experiences there.

No table service, but the POR does have Boatwrights(very good breakfast), and it's a nice walk to go over there.

We have not stayed at any value resorts, so can't really compare.

As for Christmas, everyplace looks nice at Christmas in WDW.

Have a great time!!!!:santa:

POFQ does not have TS. You have to walk to POR.

The bus service is average at best. It is shared with POR but you are picked up and dropped off first. It can be difficult when you are leaving the parks because the queue is shared with POR. Makes for long lines and waits.

POFQ is on par with the values but you get a slide and hot tub. I prefer the theme at POP better than POFQ.

The bus service is fantastic. It is the best I hae experiences out of the 5 resorts I have stayed at. POFQ, POR, CSR, YC & BC.
It does share a bus with POR to all resorts with the exception a trip to MK, but you are the first to be picked up and the first to be dropped off.

There is no table service. Food on the grill is made fresh.

This resort is very different from a value. It is not overly crowded, the rooms are bigger, the resort is very quite and intimate and everything is close to everything else (walking wise).

I have stayed here at Christmastime and we loved it. The decorations were nice and we had carolers in our lobby most mornings.

This is my favorite moderate resort.

I'd stick with Pop. It has better transportation, is a newer resort, cost less and you don't get enough at POFQ to make it worth the jump in price.

last year, never again - like a big bright Best Western. I like aquiet, relaxing resort feel that Pop just doesn't have. Its POFQ for me!!
