We are staying at the POFQ for the first time, and currently have a standard room reserved. Is it worth the money to move up to water view? What will I benefit from moving up?

Just wondering if it would be worth it. We have been staying in deluxe the last couple of times, and my DH is getting very used to it, so he is a little antsy that I have booked at a moderate this time (trying to save some money) so I am wondering if I would get a "better room" if I reserved the water view instead of standard view.

I would just stay with the standard view. We got a great room there! No room is really far from the food court and pool anyways. I would never pay for a water view at POFQ just because you really can't enjoy the view. There is no balcony and if you leave your window open then everyone can see in. There are plenty of places to walk around and see the water there. I would stick with what you have. Save the money for souveniers! I love POFQ and I am sure that you will too!

IMO, it's not worth the extra money for the water view. Considering that the hallways are all exterior we never even open our blinds. "Waterview" also includes a view of the pool which could be very loud. We had room 5303 which is near the pool but you couldn't really see it and we could hear the activity there all day and in the evening as well.

I would suggest asking for a ground floor room because the elevators are not in the center of the buildings. In our case, the stairs were right beside our room but the elevator was at the complete opposite end of the building. There were many times that walking up 3 flights was not fun.

I paid for a water view at CBR and I got one....But we had to step outside and lean way out to the left

I wouldn't bother with the water view. You would probably wind up with a view of a river, and woods across it. I don't think it's worth the extra money.

Yep, what she said! I'd never pay for a vew at any value resort...as your curtains are always closed. Location can be an issue at the other value resorts, but POFQ is so compact, there really isn't a bad location. If you have a car and plan on driving to the parks, you could request a location close to parking...if not request one away from parking.

We paid for standard and requested building five. We were given 5234 which actually had a small view of the river and a nice courtyard. I wouldn't pay for water view.

Our building faced the parking lot...but even that wasn't horrible. The resort is very intimate which was a big plus for us. Also, we spent such little time in the room that it really didn't matter what the view was.

When we stay at the mods we just go with the std view. IMO I do not think that the water view is worth the extra money. But, we have been really lucky so far, because every mod that we have stayed at, we have had really nice views. No parking lot views. But, you never know, you might end up getting a not so nice view. I always make requests, but as we know they are not guaranteed.

We stayed at POFQ this past Feb. and we were in Bdlg. 5, which was in the perfect location. We were on the third floor in a corner room. The view was a lovely courtyard. We loved POFQ, and I am sure you will have a great time!
