Hello! My trip is in ONE month!! I've been booked at CSR since January but have thought of changing often.

POFA has rooms available for the week I need it!

Please choose which you would choose based on the following needs.

Bus service: How long does it take to get to the parks? We have several EARLY morning ADR's We will not have a car and prefer not to use a Taxi

Hot Tub: Does the hot tub close? We like to go after our day in the park to Relax!

Pool Bar: What time does it close?!? We like to enjoy a drink while relaxing in the Hot Tub!

Food court: We would only need a few snacks and some quick breakfasts...

So based on Bus service, Hot tub, pool bar, and food court which resort would you choose? We are two adults only. No kids.

That is a tough choice. Both resorts really are great! However, I would choose POFQ, only because CSR doesn't have a real food court, and POFQ does. Everything else is pretty much a toss up between the 2 resorts.

Oh, and the boat ride to DTD from POFQ is very pretty. So there is that too!

I would choose POFQ if it was me.

The resort is small,to some this is a bad thing, however I believe this to be a positive as it does not take long to get from your room to the bus stop, food court and reception.
So aswell after a long day at the parks, it's not a massive walk back to your room.
The food court isn't Victoria & Alberts, but for quick breakfasts it'll do perfect.

Bus service was fine when I stayed there, if I'm correct, if it shares a bus with POR, POFQ is first to pick up and then first to drop off. I could be wrong there but I'm pretty sure that's how it works!

You have the lovely boat ride to DTD aswell.
Hope this helps!

Bus service: Bus service can vary widely at any resort. I've stayed at CSR twice and POFQ once. I thought the bus service at POFQ was very good. At CSR, I had horrible luck with buses on my first trip, but a much better experience on my second trip. I think the trick at CSR is to not use the El Centro bus stop. It is the last stop to pick up for all routes except DTD. I had no problems when I used the Casitas bus stop, but had long waits and standing room only buses when we used the El Centro stop. The long waits at El Centro were due to buses pulling up that were already completely full since they picked up at every other stop first. Travel times once I was on a bus seemed shorter at CSR than at POFQ. Buses at POFQ usually pick up there first, then head over and pick up at POR so you are stopping at all 4 bus stops over there before heading to a park.

Hot tub: I do believe the hot tubs at both resorts close at some point. I honestly wasn't out that late to find out. The hot tub at POFQ seemed rather small but the hot tub at CSR is huge. I believe the CSR one is the largest one on property. I used it a few times in the early evenings and never felt it was crowded. For this alone, I'd recommend CSR over POFQ.

Pool bar: The pool bar at CSR did seem to close very early. My experience was it closed at 9:00pm, but I know I've read reports from some people who saw it close earlier than that, by 8:00 or 8:30. I didn't use the pool bar at POFQ so I can't compare the two. There is a second outdoor bar next to the lake by El Centro. They were open late. If you know you are headed to the pool after the time the pool bar closes, stop off there and get drinks to take with you to the pool. I'm pretty sure all the drinks they serve at that outdoor bar are in plastic cups. If not, you can certainly request a plastic cup.

Food Court: At CSR, they don't really have a traditional food court. At breakfast and lunch, the Pepper Market has a buffet. There is a separate "grab and go" type place called Cafe Rix. They have some limited hot options there and a pastry case. If you are okay with baked goods for breakfast, I'd say you'd definitely be okay with this. The food court at POFQ is small and gets very crowded and hectic. My experience there was long waits at the counters to order and get food, and then more long waits at the registers to check out.

I think you could be happy at either resort. My inclination is you should stick with CSR.

I've stayed at CSR and thought it was a really nice resort.

Buses: CSRs buses were prompt, and rarely crowded.

Food court: CSR does not have a traditional food court however, they have a very wide variety of food. No less options than any other food court.

Pool: pools and bars usually close at midnight. I believe that Rix lounge stays open later.

POFQ; during a recent week long stay at Riverside, DW and I stopped by POFQ to hang out. We stopped by the food court and I was dumbfounded. POFQs food court is small and it was absolutely filthy. The decor was gaudy and dingy. I would never stay there due to the uncleanliness I observed inside the food court of FQ.

Hi
I love CSR. Grounds are beautiful, but spread out. I experienced the best bus service there out of all the resorts I've stayed at. My DH and I used the hot tub and it was great, but I forget what time it stays open to. There is a bar right by the lake and DH and I spend some time there. It's very relaxing. The pool is big and there is a bar right next to it. I stayed at POFQ and even though it's a small resort with less walking, I liked CSR better. The food court at POFQ is small and there isn't as much as a selection. We had longer waits for the bus at POFQ. I never tried their hot tub. Both resorts are nice. Have a great trip!!
