Hi Everyone!

My mom and I are planning a trip to Disney World for February 2019. This will be my second trip and my mom’s first time. We are trying to decide between Port Orleans French Quarter Garden View and Caribbean Beach Preffered. Both themes appeal to us. I feel that the boat to Disney Springs is an advantage of POFQ. However I am enticed by the newness of CBR. I have not stayed at either resort. Based on your experiences which resort would you choose and why?

Thank you for your help! (:

POFQ is my favorite resort. It's the smallest of the resorts, which means shorter walks to/from your room and the gift shop, the food court, and the bus stop. I also love the ability to take the boat to Disney Springs.

CB, while being remodeled, is really spread out. It can be long walks to get from one spot to another.

I've been to both in the past year and absolutely fell in love with POFQ. It's intimate and charming and will probably be my family's new home base whenever we visit. CB was just fine by comparison (and we were in one of the remodeled rooms) though we had excellent service from the cast members at both (both were A+ trips). They are both nice, but POFQ wins by a good mile.

100% POFQ. We've stayed at both but won't be back to CBR. For us, everything was just too spread out, theres like a million bus stops (FQ only has one, occassionally it will share with POR, but in our experience thos hardly happens.) We also preferred the food court and just the overall feel of FQ...you can also take a nice riverside stroll to POR and yes the boat to DTD, def beats the bus every day.

Thanks for posting OP - I was coming on here to ask this same question! I was deterred from CBR because of the construction so I booked POR, but now that things are opening over there I was second guessing myself. Looks like the verdict is stay at PO, but we may have to pop over to CBR for their pineapple banana pancakes. :)

I've stayed at both and to me it isn't even a close call. POFQ. A resort that is small, has the boat to Disney Springs, has only one bus stop. Compared to a massive resort with multiple bus stops. I love the charm of POFQ. CBR just didn't do much for me. Plus due to the large size if you end up in a far room it can be quite a walk to the main area where the food options and shops are.

I liked both resorts a lot and I would stay at each again. If I was relying on buses and Disney transportation, I would go with POFQ simply because it’s a smaller resort and everything is close by. The boat to Disney Springs is also a nice plus.

Thank you everyone for your help. You all had such great advice. We went ahead and booked French Quarter, we are looking forward to our trip!
