I just switched my December reservation from CBR over to POFQ, and now I'm starting to wonder if I should pay extra for the water view. Does anyone have a water view room with an AP rate that could tell me how much more it is? And for those who have stayed there, do you think the extra $ for water view is worth it?

Thanks!

The cost difference between the standard view and waterview is $15.00 per night
We stayed there in June, with a standard view, in my opinion it is not worth the extra to stay in a waterview. You do not have your own balconey, so you walk out of your room to the walkway to see the water. You can look out your window but again it is not like you have your own private spot to sit and enjoy the view.

WDW Poly,
We stayed at POFQ in 2003 and we were upgraded for free to a water view. Our room was next to a NW corner room on the 2nd floor of Bldg 5. When we walked out onto the walkway, this is the view we had:

We really enjoyed this resort. We have ressies for POR in January.

It really depends on what water view you get. You could just get a pool view or one that is so obstructed that you have no great view of water at all. To me it was not worth the extra.

I stayed there in Sept in a standard room. Our view was lovely (bldg 5 opposite the pool side). We had a couryard view with a partial water view.

I do not believe that a water view in POFQ is worth the extra money. The resort is so lovely that any view you get will be pretty. And like the previous posters said, it's not like you can sit outside in your balcony and enjoy it, cuz there are no balconies.

I agree, the water view at POFQ is overpriced. The lovely courtyard we had a view of was delightful!!

Thanks for the input! I'm always too cheap to pay for a water view at deluxes, and although the water view looks beautiful, I think I'll stick with standard, and put the $30 towards a backstage tour :)

We stayed at POFQ in June. We also do not think the view is worth it. If we had a private balcony it would be because it is a beautiful view. But since we cannot open the curtains without people looking in, and there was a bit of traffic on the balconies, we didn't get to appreciate the view that much.

The water view is not worth the extra cost. We did it several years ago and my husband insisted on the water view. Well, we were in Bldg 5. If you got out on the balcony and walked down to the room on the end, you could see the canal. Every view is good at POFQ. Besides, with the moderates, you don't have a balcony to hang out on. You only have the walkway to your room (exterior doors, no interior corridors).
