What is the standard view like at POFQ?? Are you right up against the parking lot or is there some greenery btwn???
It seems that blg 3 or 4 would be really great locations!

Stayed in building 4 last December and our room overlooked a very nice garden type setting. You really couldn't see the parking lot at all.

We stayed in building 5 last year facing a courtyard and it was great! The other side of building 5 faces the pool. I loved the location.....we were steps to the bus stop, the food court, and pool, even the laundry room. :flower:

I faced the parking lot but there are courtyards and small fences with lots of landscaping to buffer your view. It is shady and green. There are walkways from the rooms to the main walkway that goes out to the lot. There was no noise.

We stayed in bldg 4 last fall- our room faced a small courtyard, very shaded and quiet. But we were VERY close to the bus stop, and just around the corner were the pool and Food court. We never saw the buses from our room- never heard them, either. It was a GREAT location!

We were in Bldg 2 this May, in a standard view. On our side of the building, we face a pretty courtyard with flowers, greenery, and a fountain in the center. The other side of the building faced the pool, hot tub, etc. We were a short walk to everything: pool, food court, buses, boat landing. You cannot see a parking lot from this building in any direction! And the same for Bldg 5 on the other side of the pool.

We were in building 3 last year. We had a view of the circular drive through a few trees. As previously posted, it was very quiet. The rooms on the other side of the building facing the parking lot were also well buffered by trees.

FWIW, I wouldn't pay extra for a waterview room. You won't have a balcony and have to walk outside the room in order to see the view anyhow. As mentioned, all the standard views are actually quite nice and even if you end up in the furthest out bldng. the resort is so compact that you're still very close to everything. I stayed in standard view both times at FQ...once in bldng.1 and had a view of the courtyard and once in bldng.2 also with a courtyard view. If you'll have a car, being on the parking lot side could actually end up being a plus and you'd still have really pretty hedges and gardens between the parking lot and your room.

We stayed in bldg 4 last year as well and we totally agree w/momofkatie!! :goodvibes

thanks for the info!!
I am going to ask for blgs 3 or 4 standard view-they seem like the best locations-close to everything with a minimal walk.
Now I may get blgs 1 or 7 with a standard view..how long does it take to trek from there to the main blg or the pool...5 mins..10 mins??

How is bldg 7 at POFQ or would 5 be better. We want a non smoking. The hotel told me it was only a 3 min walk where ever you were. How true is this. I have a AAA discount for $104 + tax in December. Is $100 more a night worth it to stay at WL. What is the dif other than bed size? Thanks :flower:

Bldng.#5 is a highly requested one as it's right by the pool and food court but the CM was correct ...only about 3mins no matter which bldng. as the resort is so compact ;) As for $100 more worth it for WL ? All depends on how much more you like the theming over there I'd say:scratchin I like WL but...the beds there and the room size are comparable to the moderates. They were only doubles not queens and not alot of sq.footage. I guess that's why WL is considered a deluxe resort but less $$ than the other deluxes. The main difference when you bump up isn't that you get a bigger room or bed but that you get a balcony, indoor corridors, room service and closer to MK. You really need to decide if the little bit of extra ammenities you get with the bump up to WL are worth the extra cost. $100 extra per night?? :confused3 Not sure if it would be worth the extra to me, I'm staying there in Oct. over a wknd but I didn't go by which had the better rate but by which resort theming I felt like having for that trip.

Got to say that if you can get WL for only $100 more a night it would be very worth it! It's a great resort and they do pamper you. I also liked the pool, food court and indoor corridors.

That being said - you will not be sorry keeping to your original plan and staying at POFQ. We found it very quiet - positively restful - and efficient. The food court is awesome and the CMs are magical. The bus service was very good - except for MK. Had to do some waiting to return from there (about 20 minutes). It was a busy day though. The rooms are large and have that curtain that closes off the sink area.

POFQ has to be the best moderate at WDW. Shhhh! don't tell anyone.
