We're looking to do FD this fall and we've done it before with POFQ. Now that POFQ is exempt (For the most part) from the summer discount, do you think they'll exclude it from FD as well (assuming they still offer FD). We love it there (as does everyone else, hence the exemption, lol) so I want to start looking at alternatives if it's likely they won't include it.

God I hope not that's where we are staying but Ill change in heartbeat to another resort! Even if I have to go value and pay to upgrade to regular DDP...

Is it just POFQ exempt from the summer discount, or is RS included? We have a package booked at RS for Sept and hoping for FD.

POFQ was not "exempt" from the summer program...it just priced at a higher rate than the other moderates...

I think the only thing "exempt" from the summer discounts was the Little Mermaid rooms at AofA.

But reading the Summer discount on the Disney travel agent website it does not list POFQ as getting any type of discount. To me that would mean exempt from that particular discount.

I pasted what it says below

ACTUALLY you were right POFQ isn't exempt I did the math and its a 5% discount!

I will definitely be changing resorts if I see FD isn't coming out b/c that 5% wont help me much at all! lol

I've read other posts that shows pofq tends to get the least discounts and usually no free dining because disney usually has no problem filling there rooms. My original plan for my trip in November was to stay at pofq but switched to por for just that reason.

They have definitely offered free dining at POFQ in the past because we have stayed there the last two years (in September) and had FD both times.

Yup POFQ is only a 5% discount just like last year when I was booked there. It is such a small resort so they have no problem booking up rooms there. I was able to get FD last September at FQ, just had to change to a River View room, which was fine by me!

The bigger the resort, the better discount! I am staying at POR this year, so hoping for either RO or FD in November.

Like I said, I read it from other posts. I was not stating this as fact but because it has been said the they might be doing away with free dining, I do want to be able to get some sort of discount. Even though I think pofq is beautiful, allot of people have stated that the food court at por has a better selection.

They have offered it in the past, but there were probably a very small number of rooms available with that discount. I have noticed that not many standard view rooms are available with free dining as Disney wants people to upgrade.

I've never seen POFQ excluded from FD. I've seen POFQ excluded/get a lower percentage discount on room discounts, but it's always been included in Free Dining deals. I've gotten FD at POFQ in both September and January.

POFQ is a much smaller resort than POR (or any of the other resorts for that matter...) One benefit of this, is that no matter where your room is located, you are close to everything at the resort! The downside of this is that you don't quite get the same amenities as other resorts: only one pool, only one bus stop, and a smaller food court. The food court at POR is much larger because the resort is much larger! The pasta bar at POR is a favorite of mine! However, the POR food court is just a short walk (and an even shorter boat ride) away from POFQ! Whenever I'm eating at the pasta bar at POR, the POR guests I talk to always laugh and say, "Yeah, it's okay, we go to your food court for the beignets!"

We've never had trouble getting Free Dining for a standard room at POFQ. We've been able to book a last minute trip at POFQ with Free Dining, standard view room, at the end of the free dining promotion without any trouble at all...

Anyway, Hi! :wave2: I see you're a fellow North Carolinian! ;)
