Just back from my 8 night stay and we loved the resort, food was decent and the transportation was prompt, they no longer run you to the ticket and transportation center, but if you take a bus to one of the theme parks and transfer to the bus thats going to the hotel you want to get to its not a problem, my wife and I had dinner ps at California Grill at 8pm we were on a bus at 7 and transfered at MK to the Monorail and at CG by 740 pm.
Our room was clean and the bed really comfortable, the maids left us towel critters and put the boys stuffed animals in poses, I think this depends on your maid. We called down to the front desk the first night for bed rails and they were there in about 15 mins. They are still doing some minor painting around the resort, they were painting the railings on blg 4 an Aqua color while I was there.
We had fun at the pool and my 5 and 2 yr olds used the life vests provided by the hotel, they are still learning to swim and after an hr or so my 5 yr old was paddling around on his own. I didnt see any of those pool hoppers but I kept a wary eye out.

Time to start planning our next trip....maybe the Polynesian Resort....hmmm

Thanks for the report.
As you can see we will be there soon. Can the kids go down the slide with the jackets on? What was the temp of the water? Last year My DH and I stayed at the YC and the water was luke warm. I am from the north and I would have liked it a little cooler.

edcrbnsoul.... When were you there? We were there May 15-22 and we stayed in room 4323. We were practically neighbors!!! We also enjoyed the resort. Our 5 y/o DD loved the pool too. Glad you had a great time.
DalPal... to answer your ?, yes, the kids can go down slide with life jackets on. The slide was a big hit with all the kids. Water temp was pretty warm while we were there.

I was there from May 14-22 I put a Lime green Mickey Head in the window pane of my room, I saw a few people wearing lime green hair ribbons and the such but so many I couldnt go asking them all, I had my lanyard on with my lime green mickey in the ID pouch w/edcrbnsoul written across it. I saw on other Dis'er there on the Bus but by the time I got my stroller down and open they were long gone.

Here's a link to some pics from our recent stay at POFQ, May 15-18th. The resort was great, nice pool and superb setting. Can't say I liked the room though, kind of cheesy for a Disney resort. The bed and pillows were terribly uncomfortable.

The grounds are wonderful along with everything else outside of the rooms, but sleeping well at night and waking up without an aching back is important so I doubt we stay there again.

I was there last week too! May 15th-22nd. We were in room 5207. I would highly recommend building 5-it was close to everything but not loud at all.

We swam in the pool everyday-even before we left. I think my kids went down the slide 2000 times buring the week. I'm sure you saw me lurking at the bottom of the slide.

I loved POFQ. It was fabulous.

I think its hard to please everyone with mattress comfort, some prefer a rock hard mattress while others like a pillow soft one.
My wife and I thought the beds very comfortable.

We were there at POFQ 5/13 to 5/21 in room 5305. Great hotel. We loved it there and had no problems.

Good morning, all!

I have a question about the slide. Will it be too scary for a 3 y/o to do? I'm thinking this would be something he would love to do, but there's always a chance it could be too much for him. I made my plans to stay the arrival night here just so he could play on the slide. I was also interested in the DTD boat ride. I'm getting really excited. It's not much longer before we leave! :wave2:

sweet maxine.... i don't think the slide is scary. My 5 y/o liked it. It's not a real steep slide, but maybe your 3 y/o might be a little intimidated. He/she will have to go down by themselves, they do not allow a parent to go down with a child. I guess it depends on your 3 y/o's personality. The boatride to DTD is nice. It's alot longer than taking the bus and if you go during dinner time, you could wait a while to catch the boat. It's a very nice ride and you get to see the new Saratoga Springs resort (which looks very nice). Hope you have a great time!!!!:wave2:

We were in 4138 from 5/18-21!!!!
I had my green mickey head hanging from my backpack. Dang, I never saw another DISer the entire trip.

oops! forgot to add...
I went down the water slide and then noticed that I was the only adult using the slide. I stood up, having just landed in the water, and looked around at all these parents looking back at me. :scratchin  :rolleyes1

i have this hotel booked for my Nov.trip i was wondering how the ride is to MK?I have 2 kids ages 8-11 my hubby will be with us but i am staying onsite just in case he wants to lounge around.LOL.Is it a long trip to MK?thanks for your report,we cant wait till Nov.This is our first trip to Disney and we are soooooooooooooo excited!

Maxine,

My 3 year old spent the whole week on the slide. As long as he knew one of us would be at the bottom he was fine. My 5 year old was actually more intimidated but was fine after one trip down. Have fun. :bounce:

The ride to MK isn't long and can be even shorter if your bus fills up at POFQ, then they dont go to riverside just direct to MK, I would guess with the riverside stops its about 20 min.
