I have a garden view room booked, but we are interested in quiet,mostly- and a sense of privacy.....should I add a request of corner room, top floor? I don't know much about the actual rooms, but am thinking somewhere NOT near the main pool area would be fine..... are corner rooms a good thing?

I have heard that corner rooms are the king sized bed rooms. If you want one of those then you will probably have to pay more for a King Room.

oh no...there are 4 of us,so that wouldn't work out...... hmmmm

Not all corner rooms are king rooms. I had a corner room on ground floor in building 4 that had two queens. I love the corner rooms because you get two windows that let in lots more light.

Not all corner rooms are king bed rooms in POFQ or POR.

If you want to be in a quiet area, just request quiet area.

If you just request "not near pool area", they won't know why you want it and you could end up in the courtyard where the movies are played and have just as much noise.

There are a few perks to corner rooms - they "appear" larger because they have two windows.

Also, not everyone walks by them. Since you are basically on the end of a run of rooms, people will either walk one way or the other to their room and you will rarely see people walk all the way around to get to their room. They can be very private.

We had a corner room (2 queen beds) in Building 6. It was fine. The only thing to keep in mind if you want a corner room is that you'll have one less mirror in your room as the window over the table is where the mirror in the bedroom area usually hangs. Not a big deal, but I have a teen dd who likes the mirror. :)

For quiet, ask for Building 6 or 7.

Quiet sections.. I would say Bldg #7 and #1. Probably less foot traffic. Top floor would be nice. But I was in Bldg # 5, top floor, facing away from the pool and Bldg #3 twice facing the courtyard and it's pretty quiet.

Regarding building no. 5 - they now show the movies in the courtyard between building no. 5 and no. 6, so if you are someone who goes to bed early, you may want to avoid that area.

Ah! Thanks! I haven't been there since 2005 prior to showing movies. :)
I will definitely keep that in mind!

the online check in requests are ground floor and near main building. No other choices were available on line.
