Here I go again...planning our next trip for November. This will be our third in 3 years:) First time we stayed at WL and LOVED it. Second time we stayed at CBR and thought it was OK. Well...right after we came home this year, we decided we would return to WL for our next trip...but now I'm getting the itch to try a new resort instead. We like the smallness of WL. So, we are thinking of trying FQ...especially because it should be completely refurbished by the time we go again in November. Anyone been there that can comment on the new rooms or the resort in general. Will I regret not booking WL????

We just got back on the 27th from our 2nd trip to POFQ. We loved it two years ago because of the size and the proximity with the boat ride to downtown. This time I requested building 7 since it had been refurbished. We had a wonderful time and the new rooms are very nice with Queen beds, shelf under sinks, and flat screen TVs.

Bus service was excellent except for the last day which I would just consider good. Most of the time we went directly to and from POFQ and did not stop at Riverside.

Food court - only down side. Selection wasn't bad but my husband got sick from the grilled chicken sandwich and my pot roast was very fatty. Would recommend catching the boat to downtown and hit Wolfgang Puck's for a counter service instead.

Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Here is a web site that will keep you updated on the refurbishment:

They are already done with building 7 so they should be close to being done by November. There are pictures on the site and the new rooms look great. The queen size beds will be nice.:thumbsup2

It's so funny how people have different views on things. On my last trip, I went over to POFQ to try the food court and take the boat to DTD. I loved the food court! I had a pulled pork po'boy, which was very tasty and filling. And I'm looking forward to the beignets in the morning.

The food court was a prime reason for my choosing POFQ for the next trip! :rotfl:

It's my favorite resort on property. Love the beignets and the hot tub. The hot tub is very secluded. The boat to DTD is very relaxing, but if it's chilly you might want to skip it.

I have stayed at WL twice and POFQ 5 times. The past few times at POFQ have been due to economics (family of 6, 2 rooms) since the price at WL has been a bit above our budget. While I loved our stays at POFQ, I still was having some pangs about not being able to stay at WL which I love. This past trip I went to WL with my Mom to visit for a bit. Funny thing was is that I did not get the warm and fuzzy feeling from being there like I did on previous visits. Guess POFQ finally won me over :) In all honesty, you will not go wrong with either choice.

I feel we had a bad experience this time as in the past we have enjoyed the food court. AND, this time our two boys did enjoy their meals - ribs, and chicken & rib combo.

Beignets are great - but eat them warm. We saved a couple for the next morning and not so good....

Last time we had CS credits left and used them for sandwiches for the road the day we were leaving - very good and they packaged it all up for us. (Better than the Main Street Bakery Sandwiches we had on the drive home this year)

The new pictures look gorgeous. I had considered POFQ last time, but it looked a bit dated and old. The new bedspreads are beautiful and I love way they carry that theming all the way through. I would definitely consider staying there now.
