I am so disappointed! I finally got my DH to agree to go moderate this trip since it is our 25th anniversary. We looked at all resorts and agreed that POFQ would be the best for us. I just read saw on mousesavers that the resort pool will be closed for our entire visit:sad2: We really like to swim and now we will have to travel to POR to swim. We like the pool to be close so I think we will be moving resorts. I had read lots of reviews on POR that say the bus service isn't great because the resort is so large and we really wanted to avoid anything too big. The main pool at CBR is also closed during our time which means the smaller pools will be quite busy. Since we aren't taking any kids, we wanted somewhere a bit more peaceful. We didn't want a long walk to the pool...any suggestions?

POFQ shares busses with POR, so if that is the main reason you are deciding to stay at POFQ, it is not a valid one. You are the first pick up at POFQ, but that just means you will spend more time riding around.

The pool at POR is much nicer than the one at POFQ. POFQ's pool is geared more towards small children, and the themeing at POR is much more adult feeling. Lots of greenery and a very nice pool bar.

I would change to POR and put in a request to be close to the pool, and hope for the best.

I am so sorry! Do you know when and how long the pool will be closed?

I know what you mean by not wanting to stay at POR because of the bus situation. We have stayed at both POR and POFQ. Yes, they share bus service most of the time, but when we stayed at POR it was horrible because by the time a bus would come around it was already mostly full of guests from FQ. So, we usually had to wait for another bus to come, or we had to stand, which was not fun after a long day in the parks.

When we stayed at FQ, it was fine. Yes, you had to ride around POR, but at least we got on the first bus, and we did not have to stand at all!!!! It really made a big difference that the bus picks up and drops off at FQ first.

Sorry about the pool situation, how abour CSR?

I feel your pain. We are at POFQ March 10-16 and bummed about the lack of pool too. My TA is checking on availability at CSR for us and we might make the switch. I really was looking forward to the smallness of POFQ but I also want a convenient pool for the kids and afternoon breaks.

I think we will probably end up moving, but I'm not sure whether to go to POR or Coronodo Springs. We will have a car so bus service isn't the only factor. My husband broke his leg a few years back and still finds it bothers him after lots of walking. Obviously, Disney is lots of walking. I would rather have a resort that wasn't too long a walk from the main building and pool to our room. I will request a close location once I decide on a resort. They all look beautiful and now I have to make a choice! :confused3 We have visited POFQ and most of the deluxe resorts but I haven't been to either POR or CS. Any suggestions would help!

Well my TA wrote me back and for our dates Coronado Springs is booked up. So I guess that is a sign that we should just stay put at POFQ and deal with the walk or boat ride over to use the pool at POR. I just don't really want to stay at POR. I just think I would like POFQ better.

Oh well, a week in Disney without a pool is better than a week at home right?;)

The hot tub won't be closed, would that do? It has a very private feeling with the hedging all around. I'd stick with FQ and just make the ride to POR when you want to use the pool. It's better than trying to navigate the resort all of the time.

I'm not sure if we are going to try to switch. We booked our end of Jan trip at POFQ because of the pool slide (kids love the dragon). This was way too short notice. Very unfair.
