Been twice to POFQ and are thinking of going back to Disney over Christmas this year. We were going to rent a villa, but flights only costs ~£500 less than flights+a moderate. Can't rent a villa for £500 for two weeks!

So I was thinking of making a change and going for CSR. We liked the compactness of POFQ though, and the one time we went to Riverside for breakfast there were huge queues of the like you don't experience at POFQ. I believe that CSR is bigger than Riverside...

Maybe we could do a week in CSR then a week in POFQ?

I've done both and loved both :) POFQ is brilliant, as you've already said, for it's size, and it is a beautiful resort. CSR is a lot larger, but I felt wasn't quite as large as I thought it would be. There is more walking but as the resort was so beautiful it really didn't bother me (we stayed in Casitas 4 which was a few minutes walk from the main building and right by bus stop 2 which is the first stop used by the buses), we used to walk around the lake each morning (took around 15 minutes) because it was so lovely. We found the food at the Pepper Market to be very good but I can imagine long lines in the high season as all the food is cooked fresh to order, we also loved the sit down restaurant the Maya Grill and the bar, Franciscos. Of course the pool was fantastic. Overall we would choose CSR for facilities and POFQ for size.
