I really wanted to return to CSR this year but, it wasn't availible for my dates. So I reserved POFQ and kept trying to see if something opened at CSR. In the meantime, I have gotten some great reviews on POFQ and I am getting excited about staying there. Well now there is availibility at CSR for the dates I need! What should I do? :confused3 We are not renting a car, so we would like to be close to the food court and have good bus service. Any help is welcome!

No shared transportation at CSR and better food and pool in my opinion. Have fun either way!!

CSR has terrific transportation. It doesn't share with any other resort (like POR / POFQ) and it only has 4 bus stops within the resort (vs 7 at CBR). And since CSR is centrally located, you'll have a quick ride to all the parks. And being a convention resort, the buses seem less crowded because convention guests are busy with their convention activities.

CSR is the most central to the 3 parks. See the map below.

 POFQ fan here! We stayed there for the 1st time last Dec. It was WONDERFUL.
Small resort = all bldgs are great location.
Pool w/ serpent slide = fun
Sharing of pool w/ POR = more fun.
Foodcourt = very good
No TS restaurant = didn't bother us one bit
Boat to DTD = RRALLY GREAT
Bus Svc = WONDERFUL!!!!!! First p/u and d/o. Only made 1 stop at POR and then we were on our way to a park. Another bus came after and did the rest of POR. As for CS they have SEVERAL stops w/in their resort but you know that having stayed there.
CMs at POFQ = very good

Honestly, I don't have a bad thing to say about the place. We enjoyed it more than WL. It's just a great hotel. Let us know where you decide to stay. :goodvibes

You already know what CSR is like, I'd try something new. POFQ is a small resort, so you will be close to the food court. The food court is different than CSR, and IMO we spend less money at POFQ's food court. The busses were never really that bad and a few times at the end of the night, we had our own bus, but we go when it's not too busy. You will get a nice boat ride to DTD area from POFQ, they have other food options there, and your very close to POR, which is also a nice resort for you to expierence.

We really like POFQ...have stayed just about every year since it opened. The boat to DTD is nice. The fact that you can use the quiet pools and main pool at POR is also a plus. When you combine POFQ and POR you have a resort about the size of CSR. It isn't that far of walk (and very nice along the river) to POR or you can catch the boat. CSR is too much like home for us (we live in SW) so it doesn't appeal to us but we do like POFQ.

I have stayed at both and vastly preferred POFQ; I am staying there again in November. We enjoyed the intimate size, the boat to DTD, we liked the food court better, and just in general enjoyed the short walk back to our room at night, although we also took advantage of POR and made that walk several times; it's beautiful. We also rented boats a couple times and went up and down the Sassagoula, over to Key West and to DTD. It was peaceful and fun.

If you want good bus service then you don't want POFQ. That shared service is some of the worst I've experienced. Leaving the resort is okay because if you fill up they just blow off POR but on the return you can stand in that queue waiting for 3 buses to fill before you get on. It's an easy decision for me, CSR all the way!! Good luck deciding!!

We have never stayed at CSR, but we were very happy with POFQ. The resort is more compact than the other moderates. We were in bldg. 2 and no more than a 5 minute walk to anything. The boats to DTD are also a big plus.

The buses are crowded at the PO resorts because they do share. But we never had a problem leaving a park in the evening because they would normally have 2-3 buses at the stop at once. Yes we did stand in line, but we always managed to get on a bus within 10 minutes of arriving at the bus stop.

I made a habit of noticing the other bus lines (research for future trips) at the parks and I have to say that CSR always seemed just as crowded as PO.

I haven't stayed at CSR before, but I really liked POFQ when I stayed there some years ago. This year I stayed at POR, and I think I prefer POFQ although POR is nice, too. FQ is a beautiful resort and has been renovated recently. Although you will read alot of bad things about the bus service, I didn't have any problems at all, and this was at POR. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes max for a bus to the parks. And as another poster said, there were buses pulling up one after another at park closing time. All that aside, I would choose the RESORT that appeals to me the most. I would not pick a resort based on bus service. All this talk about POFQ and POR sharing buses - the way I look at it, Port Orleans has 5 stops compared to 4 at CSR. Not that much of a difference!

We were there in July and loved POFQ! The bus service was excellent as we rarely waited more than 10 minutes and we always had a seat. On our return trips, we always got onto the first POFQ bus at the queue, although it did get a bit crowded as any other resort would, the trip back to POFQ was fairly quick.

We found POFQ to be very peaceful, you don't have a lot of people around like a lot of other resorts.

Guess it just boils down to personal experiences and preferences. Good luck!

CSR hands down!!

5 vs 4 stops is a big difference when you are waiting through a packed queue and 3 buses with POFQ/POR sharing.

We love CSR for all the reasons listed, better pool, food and transportation...not to mention the beautiful courtyards, fountains and landscaping. But you already know that. Good luck deciding and have a great trip!!!
