We are going down Dec 19-29

The 19-26 we are at Beach Club and Saratoga. Both resorts that we love!

Currently I have FQ the 26-29, but I am contemplating saving the 500.00 for fun things for me and my DD to do and staying at ASMu.

The other option since we wont leave until 4:30 pm is to get ASMu for that night as well and still save 300.00 for fun activities.

We have stayed at the AS resorts several times and like them enough.

What are your thoughts?

On one hand, you are staying deluxe first so moving to a moderate is better than moving to a value. On the other hand, if you have fun things planned for the $500, you may not be in the room to care.

Are you planning on hanging out at the resort that whole last day? Because you can store your luggage and go off and do anything until you have to leave.

I like both POFQ and Music, so I don't think you can really go wrong either way. I'd lean toward Music if you have specific things you want to spend the savings on that are not resort related. Music is in the finishing stages of refurbed rooms, I believe.

Have you thought of ASMO instead of ASMU? I know when our DDs were younger, that was their favorite All-Star resort. I personally would save the $$. But of course our family has no issues and have always had fun staying at the values.

This is a tough one. I enjoy long trips like this but I find that my family runs out of “Commando Steam” about 5-6 days in and we’re begin to slow down and enjoy the resort. Your switch from a DVC resort with tons of amenities and great pools and beautiful grounds comes right at the time that my family would want to enjoy those things after go-go-go at the parks the first few days. I am usually one to save money but the All Stars are not relaxing resorts for me. I would spend the money to have a nicer place to wind down in my final few days.

Now, if you’re the type to still be going full steam ahead after a week, the the All Stars is just fine. I’m no resort snob ;).

If it were me, I would keep an eye on DVC and see if you can add on to the end of your DVC stay and try to juggle your 3 non-DVC days to the front of your trip. Then, I would book the All Stars which is perfect for a park centered part of your vacation.
