Hubby and I just returned home today from our first trip to Port Orleans French Quarter.
This was hubby's first trip back to Disney World in about 20 years so you can imagine how much has changed since he was there last. And since he'd never stayed on-site during all those early trips, this was a new experience for him.
My first trip was back in June of 2001 with my sisters, and since my brother-in-law is in the military, we stayed at Shades of Green. And my only other visits to Disney since were all day trips.
I'm not sure when I'll really have time to delve into the details of our trip, but I know I have some tips for everyone - regardless of which resort you'll be calling home.
I just wanted to stop by to say that we had a great time and we've already started talking about possibly taking another trip in late 2007. We'll see!
One negative from our trip though...on the return flight home today, I lost my Chef Mickey.
While shopping at DTD earlier in the week, we spotted a Chef Mickey at the $10 and under store. Since I love to cook and I'm a Pampered Chef consultant, hubby thought it would be perfect for me. So we bought it. We had it in the WDW bag that we carried on the flight along with the Pirates of the Carribean Pooh, and when we got home, Mickey was missing. I've called the airline - 3 times. First I was redirected to call the local number. I called that one the first time and they told me to call back in an hour. I did and they told me that they'd call me back as soon as they had a chance to go down to where they keep the "lost and found" stuff. It's been over and hour - probably closer to 2 and still no word from them. I fear he's lost and I'll never be able to get another one. (It was the only Chef Mickey they had at the store and we never saw another one.)
