Changing my mind , BC costs 2000 more than staying at POFQ for next August so I'm going to go for POFQ . Please reassure me that I'm doing the right thing and won't crave BC when I'm there !

We like POFQ very much, and I can think of many things I could do with the extra savings. Enjoy POFQ for what it is, which is lovely. A surefire way to ruin any experience is to constantly compare something that you have to something else that you can only wish for.

I think it all depends on what you're going for. Is 2k worth the bigger pool? Walking distance to Epcot? The many restaurants between so many hotels? If yes, then you're making the right decision for you! It all depends what you think is worth it/not. While we've never stayed at the POR hotels, they do seem nice and worth a shot! I just don't know if we could do it because transportation and food options are a big deal to us.

Both resorts are favorites of ours. Since the OPs reservation is in August, we'd opt for POFQ, save the $2K & eat Beignets every morning ::yes::. On the other hand, if the reservation were in October, we'd opt for the Beach Club & the F&WF :drinking: hands down no questions asked...

Whether the 2k is worth it totally depends on whether you will enjoy the holiday as much. We are going next August and could have saved £3000 if not slightly more by going to POR over GF. My parents are doing exactly that, because they love POR and it works for them, therefore the increase in price was not worth it at all. However, we want proximity to parks, better transport options, better dining options, and a deluxe resort so we just would not have the same holiday regardless of how much money we saved. We know we could save a lot, we know there are many, many cheaper options BUT it would spoil us doing the holiday that we want to do if we took them.

I don't think anyone can tell you how you'd feel as only you know that. POFQ is a lovely resort but it lacks amenities compared to a Deluxe. If you like both equally then of course the saving is worth it, but if not then to me it isn't a saving it is a downgrade (and obviously cheaper). I don't mean to sound snobbish at all, but to me it is not a saving per se unless it is like for like (eg Poly or GF, Beach Club or Contemporary - deluve v deluxe) in which case yes I would go for the massively cheaper one.

I have stayed at both and POFQ would be m choice, with or without the savings. I love that little resort and dod not love BC.

I know that walking distance to a park is nice, but for my family that was not enough to sway us into liking that resort. We found it much too large, and thought that SAB was not all thatit was cracked up to be.

We've never stayed at POFQ, but have stayed at the BC and while it is a nice resort, it's not worth $2,000 more to me. Have a great trip! :wizard:.

Although I've never stayed at BC, I have stayed at other deluxe resorts, and in my opinion the nicest resort on property is POFQ. If you are lucky enough to get a reservation there and save $2K, I say congrats and enjoy your vacation!

Lol! My DD took my DGD there for lunch two weeks ago so she could go back "home". We were staying CL at the GF. The stay at the BC also resulted in z trip back to POFQ for lunch. If really is a sweet resort!

If I was going to give up a BC reservation for a moderate resort, POFQ would be the place I'd have the easiest time going to.
