How is the POFQ food court ?

Seating ?
Food selections for lunch and dinner ?
Decent selections for DDP CS ?

Can you do 'take out' and bring the food back to your room on trays?

Thanks !

I thoroughly enjoy the food court at POFQ! One word: Beignets

And yes I was able to take food out on trays to take back to the room. The selection is pretty much the same as every other resort food court but fairly fresh and always hot. Ther service was pretty good and usually met with a smile. :)

I thought the selections were good. They had stuff that was similar to most food courts but also had New Orleans inspired stuff like a Muffaletta and Jambalaya. I also ordered beignets - they were made right in front of me and they were wondeful. We made a mess with the powdered sugar on the table and had to apologize to the CM working the dining room. She just laughed and said it was fine. I thought there were plenty of tables. Nice big windows letting in lots of light. Very pleasant.

Good to hear, hope the beignets are as good as the real ones we get at home.:goodvibes Won't be disappointed if not, everything else about the resort sounds awesome!:thumbsup2

i like the pasta salad that comes with some of the meals. and beignets! mmm. It's a nice atmosphere in the food court, but you can most definitely take your food back to your room. did we mention the beignets? :cloud9:

also the cinnamon rolls are pretty good for breakfast.

When we were there in July we had no problems with seating. Food selection for lunch and dinner are just ok to me. Nothing fabulous. But not bad either. You can definitely do take out. We did that for breakfast and dinner a few days.

food court. The only time it was crowded was one morning when only one person was working the pastry station. Since they make the begniets fresh that one person had to tend to the fryer for each order. All the other days there were two people working and things moved swiftly.

It was not nearly as crowded as ASMO or the Contemporary food courts which were our last two stays.

I love POFQ and the food court is very good. Remember you can walk over to POR food court for more options.

Get the ribs! Especially if you are on the DDP. They are very good, an absolutely huge portion. You could honestly split it with 2 people to save $$ or meal credits. The chicken parmagian meal is a pretty good value too. There is a pretty decent variety - a pasta/pizza station, a ribs/chicken/jambalya station, a hamburger / hot sandwhich station, and a deli sandwhich station, as well as desert. Pretty wide variety of breakfast foods as well, though we don't typically eat big breakfasts at WDW. Not sure why all the hoot about the beignets, they are OK, really just fried dough with a TON of powdered sugar. We usually get them once per trip, but not my favorite.

Kids meals range from pizza to spaghetti and meatballs to hamburger to mac and cheese and something else I can't think of right now.

No one mentioned the seating...there's not a ton of seating, but I can't say we've ever had a problem getting a table. (Though we don't usually go down for breakfast and I've seen it pretty crowded at 8-9AM.) There's a coloring table with chalk board and legos, as well as a TV tuned to the Disney Channel (of course) for the kids. I wish these were a little more line of sight so that you could be getting your food while your child colored, but nothing's perfect. The theme is "Mardi Gras float warehouse".

You can definitely do take-out, they'll give you lids for your plates.

We've done POFQ three trips in a row, and I would be perfectly happy going there every trip, but next trip we will be on a tighter budget and will be going with a value resort. I am interested to try one, though to see the difference myself.

I've always thought it's a great food court (plus like another poster said you can always take a short walk over to POR's food court). The CM's have always been friendly and it's clean.

Seating ? -- I've never had a problem getting a seat but I will say we're not typically 'early risers' so it may be that by the time we're up for breakfast everyone is already at the park lol!

Food selections for lunch and dinner ? -- Good food selections, even during 'off times' (I recommend the chicken salad wrap). If they aren't serving dinner yet you can still grab a burger or pizza. The portions are pretty big (IMO). They offer a nice variety of choices for each meal.

Can you do 'take out' and bring the food back to your room on trays? -- Yes. We do this all the time, just let the CM know you're taking it out and they'll pop a plastic lid on it for you. I've seen people leave their trays outside the door (Mousekeeping will usually grab them) or since it's such a small resort I just walk our trays back to the food court.

Never had them but I don't think I'd be splitting them, unless they give me 2 full racks :-)

I **can** be busy in the morning during the rush, but there is still usually seating. Most people get their breakfast and go. Other than that, I've never seen it packed or extremely busy.

I have two recommendations... The ribs meal with mashed potatoes and the ice cream sandwich.

The ribs Disney has are very good at the various locations. They're not the best I've had, but possibly the best I've had at a restaurant.

And the ice cream sandwich is two scoops of their ice cream in between two homemade cookies. I recommend the mint chocolate chip ice cream between two chocolate chip cookies!!

The food court offers mainstays like burgers, hot dogs, and chicken strips, but also offers jumblaya, beef stew, and ribs. These meals are far more filling than the burger and fries and don't cost that much more.

Mmmmm........these posts are making my mouth water! We are staying at POFQ for the first time in a few weeks. I'll have to try the beignets!

Never had a problem getting seats even during busy times. If the weather is nice there are a few tables outside under the roof so you can dine with the ducks that always walk by.

fried dough, like a lighter donut, that is usually sprinkled with powdered sugar. They are usually fried fresh. POFQ does that.

If you are ever in New Orleans Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter has the best I have tried. They have a few other locations in NO and the rest of Louisiana.
