POFQ Aquatic play area ?'s

I'm new to the POFQ.

The grand opening is tomorrow for the aquatic play area, from my understanding it's in the pool area/right next to it. I'm wondering if there will be an area I can sit and watch my 6 year old play in the Aquatic area and watch my 9 year old in the pool (both are excellent swimmers)? Or if a lifeguard will be in the play area, I'm not sure 11 inches deep requires one? My oldest won't be allowed into the play area due to height restrictions. And it's hard to tell in pictures.

But nobody knows more about the PO resorts than Andre - he's the guy behind portorleans.org, and he's much more likely to see a question posted in the resort information threads than in a separate thread.

I can't speak to the new POFQ aqua play area, but when we stayed at CBR there was a lifeguard stationed at the water play area. That was a few years ago, and WDW has since gotten a lot more safety-conscious with regards to pools in recent years. So while I can't promise it, I'd expect them to post a lifeguard at POFQ as well. HTH

Not sure about a life guard, but we watched them all last week working on it and there is a fence and gates separating it from the pool area. It is right next to the big pool, without the fences/gates, it would be too easy for a little one to run straight for the big pool and fall or jump in before they are caught. There was no seating yet, but I expect they will add loungers or chairs for the parents. There was not a lot of extra room though. Seating will probably be hard to come by in that area.

POFQ water play area is a lot like the one at GF and there was a lifeguard there. One of the reasons is because there is a height restriction for it.
